Weekend Events in Cumming, GA from 6/24 – 6/26/2011

The weekend is almost here and there are some neat events going on around town. Please share anything that you have heard of in the comments section!

Friday, June 24

11:00 am – Warbington Farms story time. Tour the farm on a hayride, sing songs, hear a story, and do some farm arts n crafts! $4 each, kids under 2 are free.

10:15 am and 11:15 am – Hampton Park Library story time – Away We Go! Storytime Bright Lights, Big City. Ages 2-5.

1:15 pm – Hampton Park Library Passport to Adventure Storytime Book Fiesta: South America. Ages 4-8.

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Brookwood Farmer’s Market – Come and join us every Friday Night for local produce, cheese, bread, baked goods, frozen treats, and much more from over 30 vendors. Live music and entertainment for the kids will ensure a wonderful evening for the entire family.

Saturday, June 25

7:00 am – 12:00 pm – Cumming Farmer’s Market at the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot – support our local farmers and pick up some fresh flowers, goods and produce.

10:00 am – Lowe’s Build and Grow – Build a waving flag for July 4th!

10:15 am and 11:15 am – Sharon Forks Library Showcase – One World, Many Tuneful Tales

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Avenues story time. Join us for today’s storytime reading of a John Bemelmans Marciano classic about Madeline, everyone’s favorite little red headed girl. Great for kids 8 and under.

11:00 am – Michaels Passport to Fun: Make-it Take-it. Embrace Egyptian culture. Create your own stylish hieroglyphics and make your own mummy. While supplies last. Ages 3 and up.

11:30 am – 5:30 pm – Family Fun Day at Movies 400. Celebrate the release of Cars 2 with moonwalks, face painting and more at Movies 400!

8:00 pm – The Bethelview United Methodist Church is having a Movie Under the Stars night, showing the Disney-Pixar movie “Cars.” The event will take place Saturday, June 25 at 8:00 p.m. at Bethelview Methodist Church, Bethelview Road in Cumming. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. For more information, call 770-887-4888.

Great American Backyard Campout – A great event for a wonderful cause, the National Wildlife Federation. Encouraging families to unplug and reconnect through camping out – in your backyard, a state park or wherever you and your family like to go camping. You can register your family as a team and raise money for the NWF while having a blast camping out under the stars or in your living room!

Sunday, June 26

2:00 pm – Hampton Park Library Cinema – Duma – PG – An orphaned cheetah becomes the best friend and pet of a young boy living in South Africa.
