Summer Events and Activities This Week

I was on vacation this past weekend and did not post the weekend events. Hopefully you had a wonderful weekend with your family in the cooler weather! I am back posting weekly things to do on the weekend as well as special posts on local events, activities and deals going on for families in and around Forsyth County, GA.

If you are on Facebook, check out our page for daily updates and specials in the area. I also tweet some local information, so if you are on Twitter, you can find me there.

Here is what’s going on this week if you need some ideas!

  • The library has a lot of activities tomorrow (listed below)
  • There is a story time Tuesday at 11:00 am at Barnes & Noble at The Avenues Forsyth.
  • Tuesday there is a free craft at Michaels from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Japan is featured in the Passport to Fun series and there is a foam printing block and origami event.
  • The Cumming Farmers Market is on Wednesday and Saturday at the Fairgrounds.
  • The free movie is Alpha & Omega on Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 am at Movies 400. I recommend getting there about 20 minutes early to get your free popcorn (bring a canned food item) and find a seat.

Kids bowl free if you sign up at Stars & Strikes in Cumming. Sign up online and you will get a weekly email to bowl free during the week at a specified time.

Did you sign up for the summer reading programs at Barnes & Noble and at the library? Have your kids keep a journal and collect a free book at the end of the summer.

There is a special event at Menchies’s on Wednesday, July 20 to support Stick it to Cancer from 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm – Mix Menchies and Freeze Cancer!

There are a few summer camps with spaces still open – Glazed and Fired has some neat classes for kids for a fee.

Enjoy your week and please share if you hear of anything neat to do!
