9:00 am – Atlanta Food Allergy Walk at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody. Although this event is in Dunwoody, it is close to my heart. My daughter has food allergies and I wanted to share with other families in Forsyth County who may want to meet other families facing the same challenges. There will also be allergy-friendly vendors, inflatables, face painting and more. The FAAN Walk for Food Allergy brings together families and caring individuals who are dedicated to raising funds for food allergy awareness, advocacy, education, and research programs. Food allergies are a potentially life-threatening medical condition afflicting 12 million Americans, including three million children. FAAN’s programs are vital to help others understand the severity of food allergy, and to provide families with strategies for food allergy management.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kids Workshop – build a fire rescue helicopter! These workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.
