Weekend Events for Cumming, GA from March 30 – April 1, 2012.

Cumming Harvest Market FestivalSpring is in the air! There are plenty of fun things to do in Cumming, GA this weekend – here is a roundup of activities for families!

Camping season is also now underway in Forsyth County, GA!

Friday, March 30

8:00 am – 6:00 pm – Cumming Fairgrounds- Forsyth County Master Gardeners Plant Sale.  Annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs for sale. Presentations include native plants, hydroponics, organic and square foot gardening and pollination gardens. Mia’s Pizza will be at the Forsyth County Fairgrounds on March 30-31 serving up delicious foods during the Forsyth Master Gardeners Plant Sale.  A percentage of our proceeds will go to support the Forsyth County Lion’s Club and their charitable efforts for the seeing/hearing impaired.

Saturday, March 31

8:00 am – 4:00 pm – Cumming Fairgrounds- Forsyth County Master Gardeners Plant Sale.  Annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs for sale. Presentations include native plants, hydroponics, organic and square foot gardening and pollination gardens. Visit with Kinsey Family Farm and other local businesses. Mia’s Pizza will be at the Forsyth County Fairgrounds serving up delicious foods during the Forsyth Master Gardeners Plant Sale.  A percentage of their proceeds will go to support the Forsyth County Lion’s Club and their charitable efforts for the seeing/hearing impaired.

9:00 am – 1:00 pm – The Cumming Harvest Market Festival – Parking lot of the Colony Park Office Suites (directly across from Andean Chevrolet in Cumming). Are you interested in local food grown without chemicals? The Cumming Harvest is an online market for local sustainable farmers in North Georgia. All the farmers and vendors sell products that are grown or made without the use of synthetics. Everyone is invited to come try samples of local produce, baked goods, honey, and much more. Also, kids will enjoy getting their face painted, while we are all entertained by the Cherokee Cutups (a local bluegrass band).

11:00 am Barnes & Noble Spring Time Storytime – The air is sweeter the breeze is warmer… could it be that spring is in the air? Join us for a fresh Storytime and activity perfect for kids 6 and under.

11:00 am – 3:00 pm – The Avenues Forsyth – Complimentary photos with the Easter Bunny! Complimentary photos with the Easter Bunny will take place in The Park near Coldwater Creek. Please bring your camera! The Avenue staff will also be available to take photos for The Avenue Facebook page and to assist you with taking photos with your camera.

11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Castleberry Road Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt 7225 Castleberry Rd, Cumming, GA 30040. Food, Prizes and Fun!! Bring your Easter basket to hunt for lots of eggs…eggs filled with candy and prizes! Lunch will be served. Please feel free to call the church (770-889-2422) for more information or directions.

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Michaels Make it Take it – Make a terra cotta spring butterfly clay pot.

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Midway Community Church in Alpharetta, GA is having an Easter Egg Hunt for kids up to 5th grade. The fun will include a giant slide, moonwalk & obstacle course, hundreds of eggs loaded with goodies, and of course, a great hunt!

Sunday, April 1

2:00 pm – 3:30 pm – Forsyth County Public Library Family Cinema Spring Break Feature #1 at Hampton Park Library – An orphaned boy secretly lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station and looks after the clocks. 3/31 – 9:00 am – 5:00 pm – Cabbage Patch Kids Easter Eggstravaganza – Babyland General Hospital in Cleveland, GA.

3/31 and 4/1 – 10:00 am – 6:00 pm – Easter Festival at North Georgia Zoo & Farm – Visit the Rabbit Palooza, Hunt for Eggs, ride a donkey, bottle feed baby goats, visit with baby chicks and ducks and more!
