Saturday, April 28

9:00 am – 3rd Annual Boulder Dash 5K Fitness Run/Walk and Corporate Challenge 9:00 am race begins at Lafarge Quarry. Cost through Friday: $30; Children 10 and under: $15; Race Day Registration: $35.

10:00 am – Lowe’s Build and Grow – Spring is here and it’s time to start gardening! Your child will love learning about plants and watching them grow with this great Terrarium kit!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Avenue Forsyth storytime.

10:00 am – 3:00 pm – Corinth Baptist Church Annual Car and Motorcycle Show. Located in the parking lot across from Goodson Drug in downtown Cumming. The event is free for visitors, $20 to enter your vehicle. Food will also be available for purchase. Proceeds to benefit the church camp fund. For more information, call Randy at (770) 843-2485.

6:30 pm – Kinsey Family Farm Old Fashioned Barn Dance. Included with your ticket is admission, BBQ dinner, 2 wines or beers, wagon ride, cake auction and square dancing with instruction! A Fundraising event for Wee Books Program to bring books to pre-school children each month. Come out, have fun and support Wee Books. Adults- $30.00, Children 5 – 12- $10, Children under 5-  FREE.

Sunday, April 29

12:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church will have its third annual “Blessing of the Dogs” event from noon to 4 p.m. April 29 at 7620 Lanier Drive. There will be dog contests as well as food and more, with the blessing at 4 p.m. For more information, call Lisa Voss at (770) 889-0146.

2:00 pm – Girls on the Run 5K – North Forsyth Middle School, 3645 Coal Mountain Drive Cumming, GA – Current GOTR participant-No Charge. Individual $22. Groups-6 or more-$15. Registration deadline Friday 4/27 at 9:00 pm PST.

SHOWS

“Footloose” by the Forsyth Central drama department will be at 7 p.m. April 26-27 and at noon April 28 in the school’s performing arts center. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for children younger than 12.

“South Pacific” by the Acting Troupe of Lambert will be at 7 p.m. April 26-28 at the Lambert High School theater. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and can be purchased online at www.atldrama.org.

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Touch a Truck – Wills Park behind the City Pool, 1825 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta, GA – Children of all ages are invited to the annual Touch A Truck event – this year in its new location in Wills Park!  Activities include kids’ inflatables, interactive games, and of course, exploring the cool vehicles and trucks on display.  Touch A Truck t-shirts and concessions will be available for sale.  Parking and admission are free.
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Cool Bees Artwork and Gifts Spring Festival, 4710 Atlanta H, Milton, GA
April 28 & 29 – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm – Alpharetta Art In The Park will be held at Ole Milton Park at the intersection of Hwy 9 and Milton Ave. Don’t miss the opportunity to see local artists display their quality wares the last full weekend of each month April through October. There will be up to 50 vendors each month for your pleasure.
