Weekend Events for Cumming, GA for July 14 – 15, 2012.

Caney Creek Preserve playgroundThe weekend is here! Hopefully rain won’t keep anyone from enjoying the great outdoors. From our wonderful new parks to the Aquatic Center, there’s lots to do. We went on a family reunion vacation to the Kentucky Lakes this week.

Sorry this post is late – I will also write about our stay at Hickory Hill Resort for those who want to visit a new destination that is only 6 hours away!

Saturday, July 14

7:00 am – Noon – Cumming Fairgrounds Farmer’s Market. Support local farmers and enjoy fresh produce, tasty baked goods and other neat finds.

10:00 am – Lowe’s Build and Grow – Kung Fu Spinning Attack!

10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Wal-Mart – Children’s Miracle Network Car Show.

10:30 AM – Cumming Library – Summer Showcase–The Big Kid Band 

11:00 am – 3:00 pm – Every Saturday is “Pet Adoption Day” at Petco, 2345 Market Place Boulevard, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble storytime at The Avenues Forsyth – Come join us for a special Storytime all about clouds. Our featured story will be The Cloud Spinner by Michael Catchpool. Great for all ages!

1:30 PM – Sharon Forks Library – Summer Showcase–The Big Kid Band 

Sunday, July 15

1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Michaels Passport to Imagination – Japan. Create a Japanese flag and Koi fish kite! (with purchase)

2:00 pm – Barnes & Noble at The Avenue Forsyth – LeapFrog Geography Relay  – Children ages 4 and up are invited to attend the LeapFrog Tag Geography Relay. This fun event will teach children teamwork and map skills while they learn the U.S geography Sign up in customer service or by calling 770.781.0867. Spaces limited!

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Lowe’s Build and Grow – Kung Fu Spinning Attack!
