Friday, September 7

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Brookwood Farmers Market  – At a new location this year – Caney Creek Preserve. Lots of fun activities for the kids, fresh produce, unique crafts, musical entertainment and more!

5:00 pm – Mellow Mushroom at The Avenue Forsyth – Family Fun Friday. For the kids: Balloon Art at 5 PM, Medium Cheese Pizza $10, $3 Mel’s Kids Floats. For the Adults: Live music at 7:30 PM.

Saturday, September 8

9:00 am – 8:00 pm Kid to Kid Cumming Halloween Costume Event. Don’t pay scary prices for costumes your kids will only use once! Visit the KiD to KiD annual Costume Event on September 8th when they unveil this year’s costumes. Arrive early to save on 100s of great costumes at amazing Kid to Kid prices!

10:00 am — Lowe’s Build and Grow Workshop – What kid doesn’t love Chuck E. Cheese’s? Your child will love building this awesome Chuck E. Roller!

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Grandparents Day Frame Make-It Take-It with purchase of a wood frame. Ages 3 and up.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble storytime at The Avenues Forsyth. ARRRR! We be havin’ a Pirate Storytime! We hope you will join us for lots of fun and adventure! Great for all ages!

11:00 am – Quarter Midget Racing – Cumming Fairgrounds -The North Georgia Quarter Midget Association welcomes you and your family to come out and watch the races. Admission is free; we have concessions and plenty of excitement for the whole family. Quarter Midget Racing is a family oriented sport for children ages 5 to 16. Children race in Quarter Midget cars that are a scaled-down (approximately 1/4 scale) version of an actual midget-racecar on oval tracks that are approximately 1/20th of a mile.

NEARBY EVENTS

Burt’s Pumpkin Farm – 5 Burt’s Farm Rd Dawsonville, Georgia 30534. Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. Admission is free. The hayrides will be weekends only until October then the hayrides will be 7 days a week. Hayride cost: Adults $5.00, Kids 12 & under $4.00, infants 12 months and under free.

Hillcrest Orchards – Apple Pickin’ Jubilee begins this weekend! Hillcrest Orchards is open daily: 9:00am – 6:00pm (Sept. 8 – Oct.) Admission is $6.00 per person. Click here for directions and more information. Apple varieties: Golden & Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, Pinata, Ambrosia, Gala & Honey Crisp with more coming in. Pig races are at 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm & 4:30 pm each day of the festival.
