Fall is here and we love the football, festivals, farms and all the rest of the fun that comes along with it. Here’s a roundup of weekend events in Forsyth County, GA.

Friday, September 14

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Brookwood Farmers Market  – At a new location this year – Caney Creek Preserve. Lots of fun activities for the kids, fresh produce, unique crafts, musical entertainment and more!

5:00 pm – Mellow Mushroom at The Avenue Forsyth – Family Fun Friday. For the kids: Balloon Art at 5 PM, Medium Cheese Pizza $10, $3 Mel’s Kids Floats. For the Adults: Live music at 7:30 PM.

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Sweet & Sassy Girls Night Out at The Avenue Forsyth. Mini-facial, hand treatment, polish, limo ride, pizza & snacks, dancing, giveaways! $25.00 per girl, reservations required. Call the store for details. 770.781.030.

Saturday, September 15

11:00 am – 7:00 pm – Lambert Family Music Festival – Lambert High School, 805 Nichols Road, Cumming, GA. This a one day event with live music, 75 arts & crafts vendors, kids play area, and more to benefit the award winning Lambert High School Stampede Band.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble storytime at The Avenues Forsyth. Barbie: The Princess and the Pop Star. It’s a very Barbie Storytime! Come join us as we read about the adventure of The Princess and the Pop Star. Great for anyone who loves Barbie.

11:00 am – Quarter Midget Racing – Cumming Fairgrounds -The North Georgia Quarter Midget Association welcomes you and your family to come out and watch the races. Admission is free; we have concessions and plenty of excitement for the whole family. Quarter Midget Racing is a family oriented sport for children ages 5 to 16. Children race in Quarter Midget cars that are a scaled-down (approximately 1/4 scale) version of an actual midget-racecar on oval tracks that are approximately 1/20th of a mile.

1:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Midway Family Fall Festival, Post Road, Cumming, GA. Join the businesses of Midway Festival for a fun afternoon of games and prizes for the kids, great food, demonstrations and music! Free admission!

ALL WEEKEND

Lakewood 400 Antiques Market – Always the 3rd weekend, the Market features Antiques, Home Decor and Collectibles. Come shop as over 150 dealers have brought treasures form all over to North Georgia.

9am – 5 pm Friday
9am – 6pm Saturday
10 am – 5 pm Sunday

$3 Admission Friday – Sunday (good all weekend) (children under 12 free)

NEARBY EVENTS

Burt’s Pumpkin Farm – 5 Burt’s Farm Rd Dawsonville, Georgia 30534. Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. Admission is free. The hayrides will be weekends only until October then the hayrides will be 7 days a week. Hayride cost: Adults $5.00, Kids 12 & under $4.00, infants 12 months and under free.

NEARBY EVENTS

Hillcrest Orchards – Apple Pickin’ Jubilee begins September 8! Hillcrest Orchards is open daily: 9:00am – 6:00pm (Sept. 8 – Oct.) Admission is $6.00 per person. Click here for directions and more information. Apple varieties: Golden & Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, Pinata, Ambrosia, Gala & Honey Crisp with more coming in. Pig races are at 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm & 4:30 pm each day of the festival.

APPLE ORCHARDS/CORN MAZES/FARM FUN

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family Farm and Kinsey Family Farm are also fun-filled places to visit.
