Fall Festival in Cumming, GAFall is in full swing and there are plenty of Halloween events as well as festivals planned for this weekend in Forsyth County, GA! Here is a roundup. Friday, October 26

5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Sweet & Sassy Halloween Event. $25.00 per girl, reservations required. Costume contest with prizes and much more!

11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Dickey’s BBQ Pit Grand Opening Celebration - 415 Peachtree Pkwy, Cumming, GA 30041 – Across from The Avenue Forsyth. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is proud to announce its grand opening celebration on Friday, October 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where three customers will win free barbecue for an entire year. Customers will also enjoy $1 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches. This restaurant is located in the Shops at Brannon Crossing plaza across from the Avenue Forsyth. 10:00 am – Lowe’s Build & Grow – build a creepy keeper for Halloween!
10:00 am – 3:00 pm North Forsyth UMC Fall Festival  live music, food, bounce houses, petting zoo, carnival games, arts/craft vendors, face painting, giveaways, hay rides, bake sale.
11:00 am – Barnes & Noble Halloween storytime - It’s trick-or-treat time at Barnes & Noble. It’s time for our Halloween Storytime! Come dressed in your costume for this event. We will be reading fun Halloween Stories and much, much more!
11:00 am – Quarter Midget Racing - Cumming Fairgrounds -The North Georgia Quarter Midget Association welcomes you and your family to come out and watch the races. Admission is free; we have concessions and plenty of excitement for the whole family. Quarter Midget Racing is a family oriented sport for children ages 5 to 16. Children race in Quarter Midget cars that are a scaled-down (approximately 1/4 scale) version of an actual midget-racecar on oval tracks that are approximately 1/20th of a mile.
1:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Midway Saddle Club Memorial Horse Show - Midway Saddle Club  This is a very special show memorializing our loved ones who have passed and celebrating our memories of them.  Please come share this special day with us.  Custom, beautiful trophies awarded at this show.  Midway Saddle Club is located on Seabolt Road, just off HWY 369 West in Cumming, GA  30028.  There will be lots of wonderful food and fun for all ages.  For more information, visit our website at www.midwaysaddleclub.com or like us on Facebook.  There is a $3 per person fee to enter the grounds on show day – children under 12 are free.   If you plan on showing your horses, please bring a copy of a current COGGINS certificate.  See you there!

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm - Creekside Methodist Church, 673 Peachtree Parkway – Cumming, GA 30041 – 770-888-8449 – Trunk or Treat!
Drag out those old boots, don your wigs, decorate your car/trailer/bike/van etc., and bring a bucket of candy to share & come out for a time of family fun. Awards will be given for the best costumes and vehicles. (Please, no scary/inappropriate costumes/decorations.) Our Trailblazers will be selling Baked Goods, Hot Dogs & Drinks so come hungry!
5:00 pm – 9:00 pm – CFUMC’s Night in the Patch – Free fall family event. Crafts, face painting, live music, pictures in the patch, food, pumpkin launch, hayride, bonfire and marshmallow roast, chili cookoff, free outdoor movie at 7:15 pm. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Monsters Inc. will be shown. (They will charge a small fee for the marshmallow roast and pumpkin launch which benefits Youth Missions.)
5:00 pm – Octoberfest at the Gasthaus! Dinner and live music from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
6:00 pm – 9:00 pm Trail & Treat Coal Mountain Park – Bring the whole family and have fun while learning how to stay safe. The event will include fire safety, stranger danger and traffic safety information. Participants can enjoy candy, face painting and food. Kids – wear your Halloween costumes!
7:00 pm – Free Outdoor Drive-In Movie – 25 Justice Way, Dawsonville, GA 30534, behind the Dawson County Courthouse – Ice Age 4 Continental Drift - Georgia Movies in the Park – Dawsonville, GA.
7:00 pm – 10:00 pm – Haunted Forest - 7830 Rose Ct, Cumming, GA - This is the 3rd annual haunted forest hosted by the Calhoun family and their neighborhood friends. This year we are accepting donations to help our friends the Dunford family who just finished a serious battle with cancer. Children and adults of all ages are welcome. We do a calmer & less scary version for the younger children. High schoolers and adults; you are on your own. We will let you in – good luck getting out alive! Please come by and enjoy the fun Halloween spirit and help us help one of our neighbors.
Sunday, October 28
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Castleberry Road Baptist Church - Join us on Sunday October 28th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for loads of family fun.
It will be a safe and friendly environment. All ages welcome! Don’t forget to wear a non-scary costume and to tell your friends!

5:00 pm – 7:00 pm - Cumming Baptist – 115 Church Street, Cumming, GA 30040 – Fall festival trunk or treat on Sunday, October 28 from 5:00 pm – on. A great night of fun for the season. Food, music, games, and inflatables will provide joy for all families. The night will end with our Trunk ‘R’ Treat – an awesome display of clever car decorations. Enjoy the costumes,the creativity and, of course, the candy!

5:30 pm – 7:00 pm – Freedom Tabernacle – Trunk or Treat – Sunday, October 28 from 5:30 pm- 7:00 pm. Freedom Tabernacle is just off Ga. 400 North and Pilgrim Mill Road at 2160 Freedom Pkwy. in Cumming. To learn more about the ministries of Freedom Tabernacle Church, call (770) 887-4679.

NEARBY EVENTS

Hillcrest Orchards – Apple Pickin’ Jubilee begins September 8! Hillcrest Orchards is open daily: 9:00am – 6:00pm (Sept. 8 – Oct.) Admission is $6.00 per person. Click here for directions and more information. Apple varieties: Golden & Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, Pinata, Ambrosia, Gala & Honey Crisp with more coming in. Pig races are at 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm & 4:30 pm each day of the festival.

Burt’s Pumpkin Farm – 5 Burt’s Farm Rd Dawsonville, Georgia 30534. Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. Admission is free. The hayrides will be weekends only until October then the hayrides will be 7 days a week. Hayride cost: Adults $5.00, Kids 12 & under $4.00, infants 12 months and under free.

APPLE ORCHARDS/CORN MAZES/FARM FUN

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family Farm and Kinsey Family Farm are also fun-filled places to visit.

Mountain Moonshine Festival – Dawsonville, GA 10/27 – 10/28 - Gather round the square for a great autumn weekend of entertainment in downtown Dawsonville. There is something for everyone, from the Parade, Car Show, Cruise-In, Swap Meet, Silent Auction, live entertainment, an array of vendors, and festival food.
