lake lanier islands fireworksLots of fun events are planned to celebrate the 4th of July in Cumming, GA! There is the City of Cumming’s fireworks on July 3 and the steam engine parade on July 4, a turtle race, BBQ, a doughnut eating competition and much more!

6:00 pm – 11:00 pm – City of Cumming fireworks show, music, inflatables, dance contest at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

Thursday July 4, 2013

7:00 am – Totally Running – We Are Runners 5k/10k/Kids Run & Wheelchair Event – benefits March of Dimes
9:00 am – 1:00 pm – City of Cumming Steam Engine Parade and Celebration at the Cumming Fairgrounds.
11:00 am – 2:30 pm – 11th Annual BBQ and Turtle Race at the Foster House. Turtle races begin at 1:00 pm, you need to register at 12:00 pm.
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm – Dutch Monkey Doughnuts 4th Annual Doughnut Eating Competition. Face painting, food, drinks, raffle benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Competitions for adults and kids. Adults must pre-register, kids can sign up early the day of the competition.

You can also catch Lake Lanier Island’s fireworks show and celebration – it’s a Red, White and Luau from 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Celebrate our nation’s birthday at LanierWorld! Great music, food and fun all day long! Live music presented by Rock 100 featuring “The Geeks” band and Blair Crimmins & The HULAgans at Sunset Cove. Patriotic food and drink specials will be featured from Bacardi. The skies will light up with our spectacular fireworks display in the evening. It’s a celebration you and your family don’t want to miss!
