Friday, October 4

4:00 pm – 12:00 am – Cumming Country Fair and Festival – Cumming Fairgrounds. Greg Bates in Concert @ 7:00 pm, Casey James in Concert @ 8:30 pm.

Saturday, October 5

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Community Safety Fair in the Home Depot parking lot on Marketplace Blvd.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kids Workshop – Build a fire rescue plane and celebrate fire safety month!

10:00 am – 12:00 am - Cumming Country Fair and Festival - Cumming Fairgrounds. FREE Admission and Rides (10 am – 11 am)
$25 unlimited rides (Must be purchased 11 am – 3 pm) – midnight. KIDS DAY! Free Admission 12 & under 11 am – 3 pm. 2013 Miss Cumming Fair Pageant starting at 10:00 am.

11:00 am - Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth - Star Wars fans, join us as we celebrate everything Star Wars on Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 am. We will have a crafts, activities and more. Everyone will receive a special gift (while supplies last). Fun for all ages!
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Michaels Great Pumpkin Event with purchase of 9″ pumpkin! Get the whole family in the spirit of Halloween. Join us on Saturday, October 5, for our Great Pumpkin Crafting Event. 7:00 pm - Bingo - VFW Post 9143, 1045 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA - Looking for a little Family Fun?*  Come join us each Tuesday and Saturday for Bingo.  New Games. Cumming Country Fair and Festival Starting Thursday, October 3 and runs through October 13 at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Check out the daily specials and events!

Pumpkin Palooza at Warbington Farms starts Saturday September 28th. Hope everyone can join us for a hayride, fun in the Farm park, visit the petting zoo, pick the pumpkin for the front porch. We will also have vendors every weekend from now until the 27th of October. Such as Origami Owl, Paparazzi jewelry, Hand made children’s items, wreaths by “Hang this wreath” Monogram shirts, much more. Hope to see you there! Hours are 11-6 on Saturdays, 1-6 on Sundays. Coupon coming soon to their website, so be watching!

Kinsey Family Farm and the pumpkin patch at Cumming First United Methodist Church is open for pumpkin picking season!

APPLE ORCHARDS / CORN MAZES / FARMS IN NORTH GEORGIA

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family FarmWarbington Farms and Kinsey Family Farm are also a fun-filled place to visit – check their websites for opening dates.

Hillcrest Orchards also debuts their apple pickin’ jubilee on September 7, 2013 and it runs every weekend through October. This is the only time that you can pick your own apples at this orchard. Pick your fun at the annual “Apple Pickin’ Jubilee” where you can pick your own apples, milk a cow, watch live pig races, walk a nature trail, visit the petting farm ($3.00 per person), take a wagon ride through the orchard, visit the Moonshine Museum and watch live bands and cloggers on the Hillcrest Stage. Hillcrest Orchards is open daily: 9:00am – 6:00pm (Sept. – Oct.) 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Nov.) Cagle’s Family Farm in Canton, GA opens Labor Day weekend! Fall fun at the farm starts this weekend. Enjoy their 13th annual corn maze and lots of kid friendly activities. There is also a haunted barn opening Oct. 4 – Nov. 2 for older folks. Open weekends from August 30 through November 17th. Hours are as follows:
August 30 – November 17, 2013.
Friday 5pm-11pm
Saturday 10am-11pm
Sunday 10am-6pm

If you can’t make it out to the apple orchards but want to enjoy fresh North Georgia apples, check out City Produce in Cumming, GA on the corner across from Dairy Queen. They are already bringing in apples from Ellijay!

Also The Cumming Harvest is a great way to eat real, local food and support local farmers.
