From holiday craft shows to a farmers market to a river clean up, the calendar is brimming with ideas of fun family activities. Friday, November 1

10:00 am – 3:00 pm – Creekside UMC Holiday Showcase – Unique Christmas shopping with OVER 70 VENDORS providing gift and home decor items. $1 admission. Located at: 673 Peachtree Parkway, Bldg. A, Cumming, GA 30041.
11:00 am – 3:00 pm – Farmers Market at Vickery Village – There is a new farmers market in Cumming, GA! Come stock up for the weekend on farm fresh produce, local meats, poultry, and eggs as well as local artisan products such as bread, cheese, jellies, probiotic drinks, soaps and more. Also, order fresh wild caught seafood for delivery at the market from Tom’s Awesome Seafood.
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm – Kids Night Out – Uniquely Inspired – Join us for a Popcorn filled Night. Paint a popcorn bowl, Popcorn/movie crafts

8:30 am – 1:00 pm Cumming First United Methodist Church Christmas Bazaar – Brunch and Lunch, Eat, Shop and Enjoy! Handmade crafts, decorations, baked goods.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Rivers Alive Cleanup – Mary Alice Park, Cumming, GA. Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) is seeking volunteers to help clean local waterways. The 2013 Rivers Alive Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, at 9 a.m. and KFCB encourages families, scout troops and organizations to volunteer for the annual waterway cleanup event. Volunteer teams can register for the event by calling KFCB at 770.205.4573 or by sending an email to kfcb @ forsythco.com. The registration deadline is Tuesday, October 30. Volunteers will meet at Mary Alice Park (1820 Mary Alice Park Road in Cumming) at 9 a.m. on November 3 to gather supplies. Volunteers will proceed to clean as many lake, river and wetland locations as possible before returning to Mary Alice Park for lunch.  To receive additional information about the 2013 Rivers Alive Cleanup, call KFCB at 770.205.4573.

10:00 am – 11:30 am – Michaels KIDS CLUB®: Thanksgiving Handcrafted Turkey – Kids, make a playful craft turkey with your hands… literally! Join us on Saturday, November 2nd, from 10-11:30am, for our happy Thanksgiving Handcrafted Turkey Event. $2

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble story time – Join us for a fun Storytime all about Pete the Cat! Great for all ages!
11:00 am – North Georgia Quarter Midget Kids Racing – Cumming Fairgrounds – That is what you will find at the Bill Thomas Raceway located at the Cumming Fairgrounds, home of the North Georgia Quarter Midget Racing Association (NGQMA). Saturdays between March and November, you will find boys and girls, ages 5-16, take to the track, pedal to the metal. Race on over for some wheel to wheel action!  Admisison is always free and concessions are available.
11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Kickin’ Chicken BBQ at Creekside Methodist Church, 673 Peachtree Parkway, Bldg. A, Cumming, GA 30041. Stop by the Kickin’ Chicken table on Sundays in the Atrium before and after worship services or at the event to purchase your tickets for the Annual Women’s Ministry Kickin’ Chicken. Ticket purchase will allow free admission to the MOPS Holiday Showcase. Tickets are $8 with a choice of either a succulent pulled BBQ chicken sandwich or a delicious bowl of homemade chicken chili. Both options will be served as a meal with sides and a drink. New this year, chicken chili “to go” by the quart – $12!
9:00 am – Bethlehem Baptist Church for our annual Fall Bazaar on November 2nd! We will have a silent auction, cake walk, and a country store loaded with crafts, holiday decorations, gifts, canned and homemade goods! We will serve hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch, and we will have smoked chicken plates for supper. Everyone welcome! Bethlehem Baptist Church 5528 Post Road, Cumming, Ga 30040.
