Super-Strawberry-SaturdaySt. Patrick’s Day weekend is here and there’s lots of fun stuff for families to do. Here is the roundup of weekend activities in Forsyth County, GA!

Friday, March 14

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM –Midway UMC Consignment Sale: Find new and gently used infant, children’s and teen items including toys, clothes, books, movies, computer games, games and systems, furniture, accesories and more. Midway United Methodist Church, 5025 Atlanta Highway, Alpharetta.

11:00 am – 11:45 am – The Very Hungry Caterpillar Story Time at Cumming Library. This storytime includes books, music, and activities. It is designed for ages 2 – 5, but the whole family is welcome to attend. Registration required.

11:15 am – 11:45 am – Hampton Park Library Preschool Pals story time for ages 3 – 5. These 30 minute programs are designed to promote language, listening, and pre-reading skills by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a variety of literature, and participation in language-related activities.  Hear stories, sing songs, and develop the skills needed to become a successful reader.

Saturday, March 15

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth storytime – I Need My Monster. Story and activity great for kids.

11:15 am – 1:15 pm – Post Road Library Saturday Family Story Time. Start your weekend off right at the Post Road library. We’ll have stories, dancing, and fun! This storytime is for children aged 4-8 but bring the whole family!

12:00 pm – Barnes & Noble Bedtime Math 2 Launch Party – We’re celebrating how cool numbers are with a Pajama Party and fun activities. Join us for the launch party for Bedtime Math 2!

PROMOTION MARCH 1 THROUGH MARCH 14, 2014

Pi Day is March 14 and Mia’s Pizza & East has a math initiative for the kids to do math for a free slice of cheese pizza. Got to love that! Find the math activities here (just scroll down to the Math initiative section of the page). http://miaspizzaandeats.com/pi-day.html.

Kids who complete one of these activities and who bring it to the restaurant between March 1 to March 14 will receive a free slice of pizza.  Kids in grades Pre-K to 8 are eligible to play and must choose an age appropriate activity to complete.  Only one per child.  Free slices are dine-in only and can be picked up between 11am to 6pm only, Monday through Sunday.  Not valid with other coupons, promotional certificates, or discounts.

Acting Troupe of Lambert’s performance of the classic Bye Bye Birdie.  The story is set in the late 1950s and is inspired by Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army.  When Conrad Birdie, an Elvis-like rock & roll star, is drafted his agency devises a publicity stunt to have Conrad premiere one last song and to kiss a girl from his fan club on The Ed Sullivan show prior to going overseas.  Hilarity ensues as the small town of Sweet Apple, Ohio, welcomes the super star and is thrust into the spotlight.   This romantic comedy is sure to entertain the whole family with memorable songs such as Put  on a Happy Face, The Telephone Hour, and One Last Kiss.

This spring musical is the Acting Troupe of Lambert’s competition show for the Shuler Hensley Georgia High School Musical Theater Awards.  Purchase tickets early for this classic romantic comedy that the whole family is sure to enjoy. Tickets can be purchased online for a discount at www.atldrama.org.   At the door price:  $10 Adults / $8 Students.  Show times are 7:00 PM
