Avoid the summer slide by encouraging your kids to read this summer and earn rewards! Register for Barnes and Noble’s Summer Reading Program Imagination’s Destination. It’s easy.
Keep track of reading progress in the summer reading journal, read eight books, bring the reading journal to a Barnes and Noble store and choose a free book from the book list on the back of the summer reading journal.
This reading program is for students in 1st-6th grade. You can get your free book starting May 20, 2014. The last day to redeem this offer is September 2, 2014.

This year, Imagination’s Destination also features special promotions to encourage young readers to explore their imaginations all summer long. From May 20 to July 14, or while supplies last, customers can purchase any two Geronimo or Thea Stilton books and get a Geronimo Stilton Official Junior Reporter Kit for free. The Reporter Journal includes a map of New Mouse City, a Press Pass for The Rodent’s Gazette, a pencil with cheese eraser and a notepad.
From July 15 to September 2, customers can purchase any two books from the bestselling Who Was…? Biography series for kids and get a free deck of Who Was…? playing cards, which features 54 famous figures and a quiz question about each person featured in the deck of cards.
A neat way to complete a summer reading program on a budget is to check books out at the library. It’s a cool escape from the heat of summer.
Also our Forsyth County Public Library has lots of summer programs and their own summer reading program “Fizz. Boom. Read.” and “Spark a Reaction.” Registration begins on May 23, 2014.
