Friday, September 26

10:00 am – 2:00 pm – The Vickery Village Farmers Market. This farmers market is one of few in which the produce is truly farm fresh … wherein the farmer is the grower. 11:15 AM – 11:45 am – Hampton Park Library – Preschool Pals Story time – These 30 minute programs are designed to promote language, listening, and pre-reading skills by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a variety of literature, and participation in language-related activities.  Hear stories, sing songs, and develop the skills needed to become a successful reader. This program is suggested for children, ages 3-5, with a caregiver. Advance registration is not required for this program.

11:15 am – Cumming Library – Read, Build, Play is an interactive story time that encourages development of early literacy in preschoolers. The program is designed for children ages 2-5 accompanied by a caregiver and is approximately 45 minutes long. It includes stories, music, activites, and play time all related to a creative theme.

Saturday, September 27

8:00 am – 1:00 pm – Lake Lanier Shore Sweep. Help clean up our beautiful lake! There are ten different participating locations that you can choose to report to volunteer — Bald Ridge, Holiday, Aqualand, Sunrise Cove, Gainesville, and Port Royale Marinas, Lake Lanier Islands, Clarks Bridge, Gwinnett and War Hill Parks. The sites open at 8:00AM and will stay open until 1:00PM. We need volunteers by land as well as by water. Shore Sweep participants turning in a bag of trash get a t-shirt designed by a Lake Lanier-area child and selected in an annual contest. Volunteers should wear gloves and dress for muddy conditions. Lunch will be served upon return from assigned clean up site.

10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Antique car show at Castleberry Road Baptist Church.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Foam leaves on canvas. Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

11:00 am – 4:30 pm – Warbington Farms opens for its fall season – they have a haunted farm trail, hey rides, pedal cars, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, fun park with inflatables, birthday parties, fire pit rentals and much more! See their website and Facebook page for hours, pricing and events.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth. Join us for Story time. Reading and activities for kids.

11:15 am – 12:00 pm – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime. Start your weekend off right at the Post Road Library. We’ll have stories, dancing, and fun! This storytime is great for the whole family!

2:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Cumming Dance Academy, Inc. is hosting a community-wide event to help this local family. There will be a bounce house, food vendors, giveaways, dance and martial arts performances and more! Fun for all ages – all the while helping support Sydney Ridings in her fight against Ewing Sarcoma Cancer! We hope to see you all there on Saturday!

Kinsey Family Farm is open for the fall season. Pick a pumpkin, take a hay ride, have a picnic and much more at this wonderful local family farm.

Near Forsyth County

Hillcrest Orchards Apple Picking Jubilee – where you can pick your own apples, milk a cow, watch live pig races, walk a nature trail, visit the petting farm ($3.00 per person), take a wagon ride through the orchard, visit the Moonshine Museum and much more.

Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is open for the fall season! Get lost in the corn maze, pick out a pumpkin, shoot the cannon, take a hayride and more!
