Weekend Events for Cumming, GA for March 13 – March 15, 2015

Friday, March 13

1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Fowler Park – Bicycle Rodeo – safe kids afternoon in the park. It’s an early release day for Forsyth County Schools! Safe Kids Forsyth will be hosting Afternoon in the Park at Fowler Park from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Main Playground. Bring your bikes and safety helmets for an afternoon of fun activities! Check out the flyer for more information.
In the event of rain, we will be relocating to the large pavilion.

1:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Let’s Roll Skate & Fun Center is open for early release day.

Saturday, March 14

9:00 am – Pike Nurseries – Come celebrate the start of strawberry growing season with us. We’re giving away FREE Bareroot Strawberry Plants*, scrumptious Strawberry Lemonade, and savory samples of McCutcheon’s Strawberry Jalapeño BBQ Sauce. Join us at 9 am to learn the best tips for growing and harvesting strawberries in a pot and in the ground

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels KIDS CLUB. Make tissue paper flowers. Ages 3 and up are welcome to this event. See a store associate for details today. $2.00. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10:00am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join the fun!

11:30 am – Forsyth Central High School Drumline Competition – Preliminary rounds start about 11:30. Forsyth performs about 1:15 pm. Then finals start around 5:00 pm. Concessions and entertainment!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble story time at The Collection Forsyth. Join us March 14 at 11:00 am for a special, fun-filled Storytime featuring Mustache Baby – aka Baby Billy. Activities to follow.

11:15 am – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime at Post. Start your weekend off right at the Post Road library. We’ll have books, rhymes, stories, dancing, and fun! This storytime is for children aged 4-8 but bring the whole family!

2:00 pm – Life Hacks for Teens & Tweens – Kids in grades 6-12 are welcome to come learn techniques and create items to make their lives a little easier. Make a cellphone holder that will clip to anything! Learn an easy, no tangle way to wrap any cable! Do you know a helpful life hack?  Share it with us!

Guys and Dolls by Forsyth Central Stage. Performances are at the Forsyth Central High School Performing Arts Center, 520 Tribble Gap Road, Cumming, GA 30040

Show dates are as follows:

•Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m.

•Saturday March 14 at 7 p.m.

•Sunday, March 15 at 3 p.m.

  1. CASA Superhero 5K Run/Walk will be held Sunday afternoon, March 15th at 2:00 pm at Fowler Park. This is a family friendly, dog friendly (with leases) event that begins at the Large Pavilion and spills out onto the Greenway. Registration at Packet Pick held at Troncalli Subaru Friday, March 13th from 11 am -7pm. Or beginnng at 12:30 on Sunday, March 15th! Be sure to come dressed as yourself or your SUPERHERO self!
