Friday, October 30

10:00 AM – Hampton Park Library Busy Builders 

11:00 AM – Cumming Library  Trick or Treat Storytime and Costume Parade – Celebrate the season with a special Trick-or-Treat Storytime.  We’ll read stories, sing songs, make a craft, and watch a puppet show!  After storytime, we’ll march in a parade, so be sure to wear your costume. This program is recommended for ages 2 – 5.  All ages welcome.  No registration is required.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library Preschoolers @ Post – Kid Craft 

4:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Fall Festival at Chattachoochee Elementary School! Games, Jump Houses, Face Painting, Food Trucks, Vendors, Cake Walk and lots more! $15 wristband (3 & under FREE) at the door. Wristband include most activities!

Saturday, October 31 – Happy Halloween!

8:00 am – Fowler Park – Princess and Pirate 10K/5K this weekend! This race is to benefit Jesse’s House and the Bald Ridge Lodge, two incredible places that help youths in need in Forsyth County. The races start at 8 AM on Saturday, October 31st at Fowler Park. You can register at the link below or at Totally Running, 405 Peachtree Parkway.

9AM – 3PM – Monster Bash at Michaels. Bring your costumed kiddos in for some crafty Halloween fun. We’re making trick-or-treat bags for $2, painting faces for FREE and throwing hourly costume parades. While supplies last. Parent or guardian must remain on premises.

10:00 am – 3:00 pm – Trick-or-Treat on the Farm at Warbington Farms. Bring the family out for a “Spooktacular” day of Trick-or-Treating at the farm. Follow the farm clues to find the different trick-or-treat stations. Kids in costume get $1 off admission.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth. Join us for a special Halloween themed Storytime. Come dressed in costume and enjoy in-store trick-or-treating following Storytime.

11:15 am – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Trick or Treat Storytime at Post. 

6:00 pm – 8:30 pm – Come join Newpoint Tabernacle for our Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival. There will be lots of games, prizes, bounces houses, chili cook-off, and of course lots of candy! Located at 2150 Antioch Rd, Cumming GA.

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Trunk or Treat Forsyth at Highlands Church parking lot. 43 Canton Highway, Cumming, GA. Highlands Church has partnered with Forsyth County! Hayrides, inflatables, hot dogs, touch a truck, pony rides, giveaways, trunk or treat. Get autographs from your favorite Disney Princesses and Superheroes!

HALLOWEEN EVENTS NEAR FORSYTH COUNTY

October 31 – Kids eat free in costume on Halloween at Beef O’Bradys in Cumming, GA! One free kids meal per adult meal purchase.

HALLOWEEN BOO BASH – North Georgia Premium Outlets presents it’s first BOO BASH for kids 12 and under! Saturday, October 31 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. FREE Trick-or-Treating bags for kids 12 and under at Guest Services located in the Food Pavilion (while supplies last) Trick-or-Treating at participating stores. Check back for more tricks and treats to come for kids 12 and under. Please note, only kids 12 and under may wear masks.

Trick or Treat Dahlonega – Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on October 31st, 2015 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours.

The event will take place on October 31st from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! For safety reasons, the roads will be closed and re-routed during the event.

3 Days of Hope at North Lanier Baptist Church from November 12 – November 14, 2015

3 days of hopeFrom November 12 through November 14, North Lanier Baptist Church is hosting 3 Days of Hope for the community of Forsyth County and Cumming GA.

The three day event offers free services to the community such as a dental clinic, a coat closet, medical screenings, vision screenings, haircuts & manicures and car oil changes.

Donations for the coat closet are now being accepted at the NLBC welcome center no later than November 8, 2015.

Volunteers are also needed at this event!

FREE fillings, extractions and cleaning provided at North Lanier Baptist Church by licensed professionals. Call 470.272.5183 to make an appointment for the pre-screening on Thursday, November 12. Phone lines are open Tuesday – Thursday, 10 am – 3 pm, beginning October 27.

Octoberfest! The Alpine Village of Helen is celebrating its European roots this month with nightly Oktoberfest activities. Activities will be from 6-10:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 6 p.m. to midnight Fridays, 1 p.m. to midnight. Saturdays and 1-7 p.m. Sundays at 1074 Edelweiss Strasse. Mountain Moonshine Festival – The 48th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival and Car Show is in Dawsonville, GA this weekend. All proceeds support KARE for Kids, Inc., a non-profit organization in Dawson County. This event includes arts, crafts, food, music and activities for the entire family. The festival will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in downtown Dawsonville.

It will benefit the wonderful Humane Society of Forsyth County, GA, a no-kill shelter!

The Mutts & More Festival is a 2-day event full of games and activities for everyone.  The Activities page has all the events that will be going on during the 2-day event.  The Info page has all the information on ticket prices and requirements for bringing your animal to the festival.

Planning on bringing your pet?  EVEN BETTER!  It is all about them after all.   For safety of other patrons (and other animals), you must:

  • Print and fill out the following waiver form.  Please bring it with you the day you attend the event.
  • Ensure your animals is altered and vaccinated
  • Must be on a leash at all times (no retractable leashes)
  • Sign your animal in at admissions

No animal will be allowed in to the festival without these steps being completed.

Gold Rush Days in downtown Dahlonega gives you the opportunity to pan for gold, taste food Southern food and hear music from bluegrass, country, gospel and contemporary musicians. The 61st annual event will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18 located at 13 S. Park St. in Dahlonega and commemorates the first Gold Rush in Lumpkin County. The free two-day event will take place rain or shine. For more information, visit www.dahlonegajaycees.com.

The Harvest Balloon Festival is in Flowery Branch from 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. The sixth annual festival will feature autumn traditions along with new activities for a $1. All ages may participate in hayrides showcasing the changing leaves, and tethered balloon rides overlooking the festival grounds below with the weather permitting. Tethered rides will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 8-9:30 a.m. Oct. 18. Cumming Greek Festival from October 16 – October 18, 2015

cumming greek festivalIt is the Cumming Greek Festival’s 11th year! Come and dance and yell “OPA” with them on their 16 acre property off Bethelview Road in Cumming GA.

The Cumming Greek festival is Forsyth County’s largest ethnic event and will last for 3 days. It offers the community a unique opportunity to experience the rich Greek culture. The continuous live Greek music and traditional bouzouki will fill you while you enjoy energetic live traditional Greek dance performances.

Let the scents of oregano and garlic, and the fragrance of coffee and cinnamon take you back to a simpler yet tastier place. Their cooks know the secrets to fine Greek cuisine and with all food items available continuously during the Festival hours you can take this trip as often as you’d like.

October 31 – 10:00 am – 3:00 pm – Trick-or-Treat on the Farm at Warbington Farms. Bring the family out for a “Spooktacular” day of Trick-or-Treating at the farm. Follow the farm clues to find the different trick-or-treat stations. Kids in costume get $1 off admission.

October 31 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Trunk or Treat Forsyth at Highlands Church parking lot. 43 Canton Highway, Cumming, GA. Highlands Church has partnered with Forsyth County! Hayrides, inflatables, hot dogs, touch a truck, pony rides, giveaways, trunk or treat. Get autographs from your favorite Disney Princesses and Superheroes!

HALLOWEEN EVENTS NEAR FORSYTH COUNTY

HALLOWEEN BOO BASH – North Georgia Premium Outlets presents it’s first BOO BASH for kids 12 and under! Saturday, October 31 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. FREE Trick-or-Treating bags for kids 12 and under at Guest Services located in the Food Pavilion (while supplies last) Trick-or-Treating at participating stores. Check back for more tricks and treats to come for kids 12 and under. Please note, only kids 12 and under may wear masks.

Trick or Treat Dahlonega – Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on October 31st, 2015 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours.

The event will take place on October 31st from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! For safety reasons, the roads will be closed and re-routed during the event.

2:00 pm – Sharon Forks Library – Chattahoochee Nature Center Presents Hunters in the Sky at 2:00 p.m. Join the Chattahoochee Nature Center as we learn about raptors, some of Georgia’s most interesting native predators.
