Weekend Events for Cumming, GA for January 29 – January 31, 2016

Friday, January 29

10:00 AM – Hampton Park Library – Busy Builders – Let’s build something together! Did you know that playing with LEGO and other building blocks can help develop your child’s cognitive learning and social skills? Every Friday morning we will set out a collection of kid-friendly building blocks for an engaging and educational drop-in playtime. You bring your creativity, we’ll provide the rest! All ages are welcome to attend this family program. Registration is not required, drop-in anytime!

11:15 AM – Cumming Library Read, Build, Play – Read, Build, Play is an interactive story time that encourages development of early literacy in preschoolers. The program is designed for children ages 2-5 accompanied by a caregiver and is approximately 45 minutes long. It includes stories, music, activities, and play time with Duplo Legos all related to a creative theme.

11:15 AM – 12:00 PM – Musical Morning at Post Road Library.
Saturday, January 30
10:00 am – Nothing Bundt Cakes is celebrating its 1 year anniversary and you get to have all the fun. The first 50 people (over the age of 13) in line when we open our doors at 10:00am get a free bundlet for a year card (one every month for 12 months.) We will have samples and raffles throughout the day. So bring the kids and come join us for the best cake you will ever taste!

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: KIDS CLUB® Love in Bloom Valentine. Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

10:30 am – One World Forsyth – Sharon Forks Library. Join us at the Sharon Forks Library as we celebrate the culture of Japan! Learn about Japanese culture, customs, language, current events, and more with a hands-on presentation from the Japan-America Society of Georgia. All ages welcome. No registration required.

11:00 AM – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth –    Join us Saturday, January 30 at 11:00AM for a special Storytime celebrating Groundhog Day! At this Storytime we will feature two titles – Groundhog’s Dilemma and Groundhog’s Day Off.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime at Post – Start your weekend off right at the Post Road library. We’ll have stories, dancing, and fun! This storytime is for children aged 4-8 but bring the whole family!

This month we will focus on concepts surrounding ice, snow, and wintertime.
Saturday, January 23

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: KIDS CLUB® Craft Stick Snowman. Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

11:00 AM – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth –   From brave and bold to creative and clever, the rhythmic rhyme expresses all the loving things parents think of when they look at their children. With beautiful and sometimes humorous illustrations, this is a book grown-ups will love reading over and over to kids. Join us Saturday, January 23 at 11:00AM for a special Storytime and activities featuring The Wonderful Things You Will Be.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime at Post – Start your weekend off right at the Post Road library. We’ll have stories, dancing, and fun! This storytime is for children aged 4-8 but bring the whole family!

12:00 PM – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth – LEGO Skyline & Architecture Build. Adults and teenagers (ages 14 and up) are invited to help build our new LEGO Skyline in-store display and enjoy a LEGO Architecture build with Architecture Studio bricks afterward.

2:00 PM – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth. Ticket to Ride. All aboard for a fun adventure! Join us Saturday, January 23 at 2:00PM for a special event where customers can learn to play the popular Ticket to Ride strategy board game.

Cumming Aquatic Center is excited to be offering half price daily admission on the 3rd Friday of each month beginning on Friday, January 15th, 2016.
