weekend events in forsyth county gaHappy Valentine’s Weekend! Whether you fully celebrate it or think it’s a Hallmark holiday, it’s certainly a fun day for the kids.

Friday, February 12

10:00 AM – Hampton Park Library  Busy Builders – Let’s build something together! Did you know that playing with LEGO and other building blocks can help develop your child’s cognitive learning and social skills? Every Friday morning we will set out a collection of kid-friendly building blocks for an engaging and educational drop-in playtime. You bring your creativity, we’ll provide the rest! All ages are welcome to attend this family program. Registration is not required, drop-in anytime!

10:15 AM – Hampton Park Library  Valentine Puppet Extravaganza – We love puppets! Join us at the library for a morning of our favorite puppet shows about love and friendship! We’ll sing songs, do a Valentine craft, and of course, see puppets!  All ages are welcome to attend this family event. Registration is not required.

11:15 AM – Cumming Library  Read, Build, Play – Read, Build, Play is an interactive story time that encourages development of early literacy in preschoolers. The program is designed for children ages 2-5 accompanied by a caregiver and is approximately 45 minutes long. It includes stories, music, activities, and play time with Duplo Legos all related to a creative theme.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library-  I <3 Valentine Crafts! – Come make an assortment of Valentine Crafts at the Post Road Library. We’ll have your craft supplies – You provide that special ingredient: Love! For ages 3 and up. No registration required.   

Saturday, February 13

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels KIDS CLUB: Valentine dreamcatcher. Ages 3 and up are welcome to this event. See a store associate for details today. $2.00. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10:00am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join the fun!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble story time at The Collection Forsyth. Monster comes home from vacation and discovers a box of chocolates on his doorstep. He knows he should share it with his friends, but what if there’s none left for him after everyone has a piece? Join us Saturday, February 13 at 11:00AM for a special Storytime featuring Love Monster and the Last Chocolate. Activities and coloring to follow.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime at Post 

1:00 PM – Sharon Forks Library – Valentine’s Movie and a Craft for Teens – Join us for a holiday movie and a craft! We’ll be watching Ten Things I Hate About You, plus you’ll get to play with our sewing machines and learn to make a heart garland.
This program is for teens grades 6 and up. No registration required.

ALL WEEKEND

Forsyth Central Stage – Forsyth Central High School – Crazy for You, The New Gershwin Musical – PictureMarch 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 and 19th at 7:00 PM. All tickets $10. Crazy For You — the “new Gershwin musical comedy” with a book by famed comedic playwright Ken Ludwig — is the classic tale of a boy, a girl, and a theater in need of salvation.
