Friday, May 27

10:00 am – Hampton Park Library  – Busy Builders. Let’s build something together! Did you know that playing with LEGO and other building blocks can help develop your child’s cognitive learning and social skills? Every Friday morning we will set out a collection of kid-friendly building blocks for an engaging and educational drop-in playtime. You bring your creativity, we’ll provide the rest! All ages are welcome to attend this family program. Registration is not required, drop-in anytime!

11:00 am – Cumming’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Veterans War Memorial at 301 Veterans Memorial Blvd.

Saturday, May 28

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels KIDS CLUB: Make a patriotic felt banner! Ages 3 and up are welcome to this event. See a store associate for details today. $2.00. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10:00am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join the fun!
11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth story time. To help commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, this special Storytime explores Our Great Big Backyard. #1 New York Times bestselling authors former First Lady Laura Bush and her daughter Jenna Bush Hager have created an exuberant picture book tribute to our national parks and the importance of connecting with nature. Coloring and activities to follow.
10:00 am – 2:00 pm and 2:30 – 6:30 pm – Cumming Aquatic Center Outdoor Leisure Pool Open two shifts.
10:00 am – 7:00 pm – Old Atlanta Spray Pad opens through September 5. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., May 28 through August 3. Beginning August 4 until September 5, the hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Mondays the spray pad is closed for maintenance, and on Sundays the venue is available for private rentals only. Daily admission for the spray pad is $2 per person (one year old and up). Annual individual passes are available for $30 and annual family passes are available for $60. Private rentals are $200 and include exclusive use of the spray pad and pavilion for two hours.

Half Price Family Friday! Cumming Aquatic Center is excited to be offering half price daily admission on the 3rd Friday of each month beginning on Friday, January 15th, 2016. Please visit our website or give us a call for more info and for our hours of operation. Memberships, group exercise passes, and rentals are excluded.

10:30 am – Sharon Forks Library – The Adventures of Egbert: A Violin Adventure. Join young violinists from the Corina Brito Violin Studio as they take you on a fun and exciting musical journey! Young Egbert hates to practice violin, but when his mother starts to weave a story to encourage him to practice, Egbert is taken on an exciting journey with his violin that teaches him playing and practice can be fun. This program is for all ages. No registration required.
11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth story time. Join us for a ThankoRama Storytime featuring The Thank You Book by beloved author Mo Willems. Enjoy a reading of the book and activities afterward that help remind children that thanking those who do things for you can be so much fun!

9:00 am – 5:00 pm – Strawberry Festival – Warbington Farms – Join us for our 6th Annual Strawberry Festival. We will have vendors, face painting (extra cost), “Hey”rides, petting zoo, fun park, craft for kids, visit with strawberry shortcake and MORE! *Strawberry picking is $14 (plus tax) for a gallon and BASED ON AVAILABILITY. We suggest coming early for strawberry picking as we will close the field once the berries are picked. Admission to the fun park is $9 kids and $5 adults and includes access to the vendors, hayride to feed the cows, petting zoo, inflatables, slides, corn crib, swings and MORE!

11:00 am – 2:00 pm Food Truck Sunday at Cumming First United Church. Join us out on the front parking lot and lawn for Food Truck Sunday! Food Trucks will include: Sweet Auburn BBQ, Tex’s Tacos, The Patty Wagon, Happy Belly & North Georgia Treats.  This will be a fun, family friendly event that will include live music, games, face-painting, cornhole, inflatables, train rides, and more. Please bring money for the food trucks (food prices determined by food trucks), everything else is free! This is a great time to invite friends and family. This is a community wide event!
12:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Festival Tusovka – Browns Bridge Event Center 3885 Browns Bridge Rd, Cumming, Georgia 30041.
All are welcome to join our family-friendly Festival Tusovka. Enjoy International and Russian food, crafters/vendors, activities for all ages. In addition, there is a music stage outside, car show and live performance inside. The Festival Tusovka takes place rain or shine, and admission is free. Parking $5. CELEBRATE FREEDOM RODEO in ALPHARETTA

The Celebrate Freedom rodeo at Wills Park will be under the covered arena so rain or shine the event will go on. General admission-$15 for adult, kids ages 5-12-$10 and 4 & under is free. Go to the front gate to purchase your wristband that you will need to keep on during the event. Gates open at 5:30pm, rodeo starts 7:30pm, live music by Twisted Whiskey each night after the rodeo. There will be boiled peanuts, funnel cakes, Shane’s rib shack BBQ, Dixie outfitter t-shirt vendor, western toys and women’s handbags,jewelry etc. We will have a mechanical bull, pony rides, rock climbing wall. 11925 Wills Park, Alpharetta, GA.
