weekend events in forsyth county gaThe weekend is here! Here are some fun things to do for families in Forsyth County, GA! Sorry it’s late – the site was down but now is back up again!

Saturday, July 9

7:00 am – 12:00 pm – Cumming Farmer’s Market at the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot. Open for the season on Saturdays and Wednesdays!

9:00 am – Pike Nurseries – free garden class – Critter Control. In this free class, we’ll teach you how to control garden pests like deer and rabbits as well as mosquitoes with deterrent products and plants. Plus save 15% on selected items when attending the class!

10:00 am – Lowe’s Build and Grow – Build a Falcon from Marvel’s Avengers! Your child will love building and playing with this kit.

10:00 am – 2:00 pm & 2:30 – 6:30 pm – Cumming Aquatic Center Outdoor Leisure Pool Open two shifts daily for the summer season!
10:00 am – 7:00 pm – Old Atlanta Spray Pad open through September 5. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., May 28 through August 3. Beginning August 4 until September 5, the hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Mondays the spray pad is closed for maintenance, and on Sundays the venue is available for private rentals only. Daily admission for the spray pad is $2 per person (one year old and up). Annual individual passes are available for $30 and annual family passes are available for $60. Private rentals are $200 and include exclusive use of the spray pad and pavilion for two hours.
10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels KIDS CLUB: Make a royal banner! Ages 3 and up are welcome to this event. See a store associate for details today. $2.00. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10:00am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join the fun!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth story time – When a daisy suddenly sprouts from the top of Mayzie McGrew’s head, she is faced with her classmates’ taunts and her parents’ dismay, and a publicity agent’s greed. How Mayzie learns that love is more important than fame and fortune makes an endearing morality tale for our time. Join us for the Storytime that is vintage Seuss! Activities to follow.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime at Post 

Sunday, July 10

1:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Cumming Aquatic Center Outdoor Leisure Pool Open for one shift.

2:00 PM – Cumming Library – Teddy Bear Picnic for ages 2-6. Bring your favorite teddy bear to this storytime program and pretend picnic featuring bear books, songs, crafts and activities. You’ll have a growling good time!
