6:30 am – 10:30 am – Cumming Farmers Market is opening for the summer on Saturday, June 3 at the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot on Castleberry Road in Cumming, GA. Please visit their Facebook page to get more information about locally produced vegetables, meat, baked goods, honey, soaps, flowers, art, woodworking and so much more! Open Saturdays and Wednesdays during the summer season.

8:00 am – 12:00 pm – Cumming First United Methodist Church Garage Sale. Seriously…old stuff (think antiques), new stuff, big stuff, little stuff! So much stuff….even a sailboat! Don’t miss this amazing garage sale supporting Family Promise of Forsyth County! Family Promise serves families experiencing homelessness to assist and support them in gaining or regaining sustainable independence. 770 Canton Hwy.

8:00 am – 4:00 pm – Mt. Pigsgah Baptist Church 24th Annual Auto Crusade at the Cumming Fairgrounds in Cumming, GA. Saturday will be the annual car show and Scott D TV will be on site. Join us for a fun cruise in and car show. Free admission.

10:00 am – 7:00 pm – Old Atlanta Spray Pad opens for the season at Old Atlanta Park, 810 Nichols Road until September 4. Daily admission for the spray pad is $2 per person for 1-year-olds and up. Only cash or check is accepted. Adults entering with a paying child are free if they remain on the dry deck. Annual individual passes are available for $30, and annual family passes are available for $60.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth – How to Get Your Teacher Ready Story time – A class of students gives tips and tricks for getting a teacher ready — for the first day of school and all the events and milestones that will follow. Filled with charming humor, this is a playful, heartwarming celebration of teachers and students preparing to head back to school. Join us for Storytime with activities to follow.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Froggy Celebration. Join us for stories, songs, and a puppet show while we learn together about the benefits of reading to your child! We’ll also learn about the statewide initiative, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, which will help your child be reading-ready before starting school. We’ll recognize the achievements of children already participating in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, too! And to top things off, we’ll have crafts and a visit from our special guest, Froggy, from the popular book series by Jonathan London!   No registration required. This program is for children 0-5 years old. Space is limited. Arrive early to secure your spot.

11:00 am – 2:00 pm – The Warehouse in Cumming. Please join us for afternoon of shopping. This event is held on the last Saturday of every month at The Warehouse in Cumming. Nutcracker Auditions

Sawnee Ballet Theatre is holding open auditions for its 26th annual production of the Nutcracker on Saturday, August 26 at Sawnee School of Ballet. All dancers age 2nd grade and up with at least one year of dance experience are welcome to audition. Roles being cast include: party children, maids, mice, soldiers, fairies,angels, lambs, and more!

10:00 am – 11:00 am: 2nd to 4th grade dancers
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: 5th to 6th grade dancers
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: 7th grade and up

Audition Fee: $15

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to audition time to register.

Audition Dress Code:
Girls: solid colored leotard (if an SSB student, please wear assigned class color), pink tights & ballet shoes with hair pulled back in neat bun, NO jewelry
Boys: white t-shirt, black tights or shorts, white socks, & ballet shoes

This event is perfect for picking a pediatrician, dentist, or pediatric specialist for your child.

  • FREE Raffle for all attendees! You could win prizes for new parents, babies, toddlers, children, and teens.

We are excited to bring a variety of products from an array of vendors to this community! We hope that the Lambert Farmers Market will strengthen the bond between the locals in the area while increasing awareness of where their food comes from. This will be our first season, and we hope that there will be many more! The market will be held on the grounds of Lambert High School, 805 Nichols Rd, Suwanee, GA 30024. lambertfarmersmarket.com

9:00 am – Special Needs Library Hour & Sensory Storytime – Hampton Park Library. Join us on the second Saturday of each month for a special hour of library time designed to accommodate our patrons with special needs. We will open our doors an hour early so that you will have a warm and welcoming environment designed just for you! Browse the library and check out your favorite books, movies, and CDs. And, when Special Needs Library Hour is over, we invite you to stay for Sensory Storytime, specifically designed for children with special needs. Registration is not required for this program. 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kids Workshop – Make a Penske truck! Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a wooden Penske truck to roll some fun into August. Once the project is complete, your child can personalize their truck with stickers and paint. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.
