9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kid’s Workshop – Build a Flower Pot.

• FREE hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 – 12 offered the 1st Saturday of
every month at all The Home Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride
and accomplishment.
• All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.

9:00 am – 5:00 pm – Warbington Farms 7th Annual Strawberry Festival. We will have vendors, face painting (extra cost), “Hey”rides, petting zoo, fun park, craft for kids, visit with strawberry shortcake and MORE! *Strawberry picking is $14 (plus tax) for a gallon and BASED ON AVAILABILITY. Limit of two adults per gallon. We suggest coming early for strawberry picking as we will close the field once the berries are picked. Admission to our fun park is $9 kids and $5 adults and includes access to the festival, vendors, hayride to feed the cows, petting zoo, inflatables, slides, corn crib, swings and MORE!

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Make a Mother’s Day Frame! Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble story time – The Collection Forsyth. It has just been discovered that there are no more tacos left anywhere in the world. This is a huge problem because, as you know, dragons love tacos. Join us as we read the hilarious companion to the bestselling phenomenon, with activities to follow.

May 5 & 6 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm – Springtime in the Country Artist’s Market in Ball Ground, GA – Join us for our artist market at the beautiful Revival 356 barn. It will be held from 10 to 4pm on May 5th and 6th. We will have great handmade items, food, music and some adorable baby goats! Come out and enjoy some Springtime in the Country! Saturday, May 6 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm – 3rd Annual Rise and Drive Family Festival on May 6th at The Plaza, City of Sugar Hill from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This event is open to the entire community and all proceeds will support Access Life America and Atlanta Children’s Shelters. Pumpkin Patches in and around Forsyth County, GA for 2016

pumpkin patches in forsyth county gaBelieve it or not, Fall 2016 pumpkin season is here in North Georgia! Here are a few neat places to pick a pumpkin in and around Forsyth County, GA.

For years we have been going to Kinsey Family Farm in Forsyth County, GA to pick out our annual pumpkin.

The farm features hayrides, barn animals and catfish to feed in the pond among other fun things. There are picnic tables if you would like to bring a picnic lunch. Sample their caramel apples or boiled peanuts (available after 10/1.) They also have a 25,000 square foot nursery and during the holidays you can pick out a Christmas tree and enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows.

The farm is open every day in October and features a wide variety of pumpkins as well as apples, gourds, corn stalks, indian corn, straw bales, and much more!

Check out their fall harvest shop and pick up some apples, salsa, jam, honey, breads, preserves and much more!

September 17, 2016 – Oct. 31, 2016 (at 3:00 pm)

Hayrides are $3.00 per person (children 2 and under are free.)

Hayrides, fish feeding, pumpkins and fall harvest crops. There is also a brand new animal pavilion so you can feed the farm animals! Hayrides during the week happen at the top of the hour – there are field trips in the morning from 10 – 12 as well. Check their fall activity list for more information. Fish feeding now occurs Monday – Fridays only as the fish fill up quickly.

We also had our daughter’s birthday party there in the picnic area and it was a wonderful time. We took a hayride, fed the catfish and then picked out small pumpkins and decorated them.

The Pumpkin Patch at Cumming First United Methodist Church is located at 770 Canton Highway, Cumming, GA. Opening in late September (TBA), the pumpkin patch will be open from 9 a.m. to dark Saturdays, 11 a.m. to dark Sundays and 1 p.m. to dark Monday-Fridays throughout the month of October. Central Park baseball and softball registration is also happening this weekend from 9 am – 2 pm on Saturday and 2-4 pm on Sunday. You can register online or in person at the Rec Center.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday – Babyfest – Tanglewood Farm, Canton, GA – New Year, New Babies! You don’t have to wait until spring to see new little critters make their appearance in the world. At Tanglewood Farm, miniature baby pigs, miniature baby goats, miniature baby donkeys and miniature baby horses herald in the New Year. In the tradition of the South, our two favorite porkers – Scarlett O’Hama and Rhett Gruntler – show off their newest offspring, the real Priscilla the pink pig. Itsy-Biscuit, a miniature version of the famous racehorse Seabiscuit, will be racing around the paddock while baby goats and baby donkeys wander around this Wild West Town, eager for some cuddling. Take a pony ride or a hay ride and see more than 100 miniature farm animals that call Tanglewood their home. $10.00 per person.
