Friday, August 8

10:00 am – 2:00 pm – New hours! The Vickery Village Farmers Market is here for its second year! This farmers market is one of few in which the produce is truly farm fresh … wherein the farmer is the grower. Other vendors include sausage, meat, fish, eggs, cheese, soaps, and other assorted artisans. Like us on Facebook: Vickery Village Farmers Market by Southern Growers. Saturday, August 9

10:00 am – Lowe’s Build & Grow – Build a Monsters vs. Aliens Trolley. The summer’s almost over! Bring your kid into Lowe’s to build a Trolley inspired by DreamWorks Animation’s Monsters vs Aliens on Saturday, August 9.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Fun dough craft bug. Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Day – Discover your inner Ninja Turtle with exciting ninja activities for kids ages 5 to 10.

11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Dog Wash at Rucker Pet at 5456 Bethelview Road in Cumming, GA. Clean your dog and his paws for a good cause! Small dogs, $10 and large dogs, $15. Proceeds benefit Girl Scout Troop #11807 and the Ronald McDonald House.

Fall Baseball and Softball Registration 2014 for Forsyth County, GA

fall baseball and softball in forsyth county, gaForsyth County Parks and Recreation invites baseball and softball players to sign up to play ball in the fall. Registration is open Monday through Friday, July 28 through August 15.

The fall recreational baseball and softball league is for boys and girls ages 4 through 17 (participants must turn 4 years old prior to September 1, 2014). The registration fee for Fall Ball is $70 per child for county residents and $84 per child for non-county residents.

Beginning July 28, registrations will be taken at the county’s three recreation centers, located at Fowler Park, Central Park and Old Atlanta Park, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registrations will also be accepted beginning July 28 via fax, mail and online at www.forsythco.com/parks. Mailed or faxed registration forms must include payment and be received by August 15.

Practices are scheduled to begin the week of September 1. Games are scheduled to begin the week of September 15 and will continue until the middle of October.

Practices will be scheduled Monday through Saturday prior to games beginning. Some teams may practice on Saturdays after games begin.

Players will sign up for areas, instead of specific parks.  For example, players that sign up for the North area may have practices and some games at either Bennett, Central or Coal Mountain Parks. Players will have the opportunity to request a preferred park, but FCPRD does not guarantee that the request will be honored.

Atlanta Braves Country Caravan Visits Cumming, GA on January 22, 2013

Braves players and team officials will meet and greet fans and sign autographs when the team’s annual Country Caravan rolls through five states and covers about 3,000 miles from Jan. 22 through Feb. 2. Manager Fredi Gonzalez and Braves coaches, broadcasters and front-office officials will join players at various stops on the tour, which features free autograph sessions at Academy Sports + Outdoor stores and Taco Mac restaurants, along with community appearances at schools and hospitals.

It is time to register for spring baseball and softball season in Cumming, GA! Spring sports registration is open for many teams in Forsyth County, GA. Sign up for soccer, softball, baseball, lacrosse and much more.

The Forsyth County Parks & Recreation activity guide is available for your fall and winter family activity planning from August 2012 through March 2013. Included in the guide is information on classes, camps and athletics for youth and adults of all ages. Classes include fitness programs, tennis, gymnastics, dance, martial arts, nature, art and many more and offers something for everyone in the family.

I don’t think they offer free trials, but TNT offers classes for gymnastics, dance, cheer, tumbling, afterschool, birthday parties and they have a neat Fun Fridays from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. The cost is $11.00 per child for ages 5 – 18. Have a date night while the kids have a blast! Inflatables, foam pit, trampolines, dance floor and more! Hotdogs, Drinks, and Snacks are available for a minimal cost! Registration Dates:  Monday – Friday, July 23 – August 10, 8:30 am – 5 pm.  Register in person at the FCPRD Recreation Centers at Central, Fowler & Old Atlanta Parks.
