Thank you for reading Forsyth for Families. I hope it has helped create many family memories that you will cherish in the years to come.

I am taking a break this Thanksgiving weekend to spend time with my family so there won’t be a weekend update.

9:00 am – 11:00 am – Lanier United Methodist Church invites you to have breakfast with Santa! There are two dining times of 9:00 am and 10:00 am. Picture will be taken that can be purchased on Shutterfly. They will also have crafts for the kids while they wait to see Santa. Tickets are $10 at the door, $8 in advance.

Guests will also be able to enjoy Elf face painting during Breakfast with Santa.

Legacy Lodge has Christmas shopping available at the gift shop. This year, we’ll also have a Cookie Decorating Class for an additional cost available at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Phone Calls from Santa!

Santa Will Be Calling Local Children Again this Year

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation presenting program December 8-9

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce their annual Santa’s Calling program. Santa has set aside two special evenings to call children ages 3 through 10 to listen to their personal Christmas wishes. The phone calls will take place on Tuesday, December 8 and Wednesday, December 9 between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. Santa is very busy during this time of year. If the first phone call does not go through, Santa will try one more time.

To receive a free phone call, please register by December 4. Registration forms are available online at www.forsythco.com/parks or at the county’s three recreation centers located at Central Park, Fowler Park and Old Atlanta Park. For more information, please visit www.forsythco.com/parks or call (770) 205-4646. Please note this is not a social services gift request.

Santa Events Near Forsyth County

Get your holiday photo taken for free at the Alpharetta Welcome Center, 178 South Main Street, Suite 200, on December 5, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Stop in for an individual or family photo with Santa and have the photo printed and emailed to you to share with friends and family. This is a free event and refreshments will be served. No reservations required. No pets please. The photographer will be using a “green screen” so it is recommended that attendees not wear green. For more information on the event visit www.awesomealpharetta.com or email Layne Mitchell at layne@awesomealpharetta.com. Forsyth County Senior Services Hosting Breakfast with Santa.

Admission includes photo with Santa Claus and pancake breakfast .

Santa Claus is coming to the Sexton Hall Enrichment Center and Forsyth County Senior Services invites families to welcome him. Senior Services will host a Breakfast with Santa event to help celebrate the Christmas season on Saturday, December 8 from 8 to 11 a.m.

The $10 per-person admission price will include a photo with Santa and an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. Free admission will be granted to children ages two and younger.   The Breakfast with Santa event is a fundraiser to support Forsyth County Senior Services’ programs, including the Meals on Wheels program.

“We are very excited to welcome Santa to Senior Services’ first Christmas breakfast event,” said Senior Services Director Michael Bohn. “It will be a great time for families to enjoy breakfast together, visit with Santa and celebrate the holiday season, all while supporting the many worthwhile programs provided by Senior Services.”

Families will be entertained with Christmas music throughout the event. After meeting with Santa and enjoying pancakes, children will also have the opportunity to visit Santa’s $1 Gift Shop where customized Christmas ornaments will be available for $1.

The $10 per-person admission can be paid at the door (no advance tickets will be sold). Sexton Hall Enrichment Center is located at 2115 Chloe Road, just off of Sharon Road between Peachtree Parkway and Old Atlanta Road.

Christmas Bazaar and Breakfast with Santa at CFUMC on November 3, 2012

Christmas Bazaar at CFUMC in Cumming, GAJoin Cumming First United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 3, 2012 for our annual Christmas Bazaar. Doors are open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Join us for breakfast and lunch at the Mountainside Cafe while you come shop early for Christmas. Enjoy our beautiful handmade crafts, gifts, and decorations, a special children’s shop (no adult allowed), select from hundreds of baked goods, and more!

Also, join CFUMC for Breakfast with Santa on November 3, 2012. Breakfast with Santa Benefit on Saturday, December 18 at Cumming Kiwanis Club.

Two things dear to my heart are children and animals. Have breakfast with Santa and support a great local cause. Brecht Stables & Dustin’s Place is a local therapeutic riding facility for children with special needs.

Come out to the Cumming Kiwanis Club on Pilgrim Mill Road on Saturday, December 18th from 10 – 12 and support this wonderful organization.

The cost is $10 for pictures with Santa and a delicious breakfast. For more information, visit the web site.

Proceeds go towards the therapy program and general upkeep of the horses.
