New Playground in Forsyth County’s Central Park Due in September 2014

CentralParkSignIf you have visited Central Park in Forsyth County, GA recently, you have seen that the playground is gone and there is a lot of dirt everywhere.

Central Park is getting a new playground! I am so happy as it’s our favorite playground and it was literally falling apart. Thanks also to the Forsyth Herald for covering the playground’s condition in 2013.

The new playground will be made of metal and plastic instead of wood, so hopefully it will last longer and be a safer alternative for our kids.

From Forsyth County:

“A new playground is coming to Central Park, and is being funded by the Parks, Recreation and Green Space Bond.

The new playground at Central Park will be metal and plastic compared to the old playground which was a wood structure. There will be an area for ages two to five and an area for ages five to twelve. The new playground will feature slides, climbers, swings and more.

Currently, required improvements to the site including improving drainage are being done by Martin Contracting. Once that work is completed, the playground will be installed. We are hopeful to have the installation complete in September.

At their May 15, 2014 meeting, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners awarded the RFP for the playground equipment at Central Park to PlayCore Wisconsin, Inc. d/b/a GameTime in an amount not to exceed $314,900.”
