8:00 am – 5:00 pm – Tire Rack Street Survival – Cumming Fairgrounds – Real world. Hands on.
When your teen driver attends a Street Survival school, we teach them to control your car in unpredictable situations based on its handling limits. They master the application of driving physics using their car. They learn how to make good driving decisions and react more quickly. They become more aware and learn how to begin anticipating the actions of other drivers. The Tire Rack Street Survival school is designed to equip your child with valuable driving skills that will help keep them safe on the road. You are encouraged to spend the day with your student. You will be able to attend the classroom portion while instructors are teaching the students. The instructors will be available throughout the day to answer questions you might have about the course events your son or daughter are going through. The course is $95. The schedule varies at each location slightly, but it’s a full day. You and your child can construct a fun bean bag toss game for the whole family to love. Following the bean bag toss game board construction, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. WFHS Studio West Productions Presents Our Town. You’re invited to the timeless classic, “Our Town” Pulitzer Prize winning play by Thornton Wilder Described by Edward Albee as “…the greatest American play ever written,” the story follows the small town of Grover’s Corners through three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage,” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die. Thornton Wilder’s final word on how he wanted his play performed is an invaluable addition to the American stage and to the libraries of theatre lovers internationally. 11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth story time. Join us in welcoming Santa Claus himself back by popular demand to read this sure to be future classic story by pop singer Kelly Clarkson. It’s Christmas Eve and River Rose wants to stay up all night to hand-deliver a note to Santa, but she and her dog fall asleep only to find they’ve been swept off on another magical adventure. Activities to follow.

 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Pictures with Santa at The Gibson Co. 3960 Browns Bridge Rd, Cumming, Georgia 30041. For two Saturdays in December, Santa Randy will be joining us at the shop for free Pictures! Bring your own camera (or photographer) and enjoy this gift as a “Thank You” for your patronage and friendship this year.

3:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Grinch Candy Cane Hunt at Warbington Farms Help! The Grinch has discovered that Santa’s elves have hidden candy canes at one of their favorite places….Warbington Farms. He’s planning on finding them and turning them green! Please help us find them all before it’s too late!

The event is 3:00-7:00 but Santa Pop will be at farm from 4-7 and Candy Cane Hunts will be at 4:15 and 5:15. *We suggest arriving at farm at least ten minutes before each hunt to allow time to park, pay, and get to hunt.

Admission is $7 per person (under three free) and includes:

Sunday, December 17

2:30 pm – The Cumming Library – Hampstead Stage presents A Christmas Carol – Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is a timeless story with a universal message about the true spirit of the holiday season and the importance of friends and family. HSC’s adaptation follows the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and his clerk, Bob Cratchit, during a particularly difficult Christmas time. Through visits from three spirits, Scrooge learns the true meaning of helping his fellow man, and that there is no time like the present to become a better person. No registration required. Please arrive early to obtain a ticket.​ Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Christmas in Castille – Opens November 30! The light show runs Thursday – Saturdays from 6-9pm until December 23rd. Turn your radio dial to 89.9 and enjoy the Christmas lights on this magical street. 4220 Tivoli Way, Alpharetta, GA. The light show is free and they are taking donations for a local charity through the West Forsyth DECA Club.

Kinsey Family Farm – Our Christmas festivities, including wagon rides, hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting, Christmas tree picking and general merriment, have begun! If you would like some quality time with your family please feel free to come out and join us! The 2017 Christmas season will be in operation from Saturday, November 18th until December 20th. Due to our desire to celebrate the holidays with our own families we will not be open on Thanksgiving day or Christmas Eve.

Christmas Light Shows Around Forsyth County and Cumming, GA for 2017

Christmas Light Shows in Cumming, GAIt’s holiday festivity time, and with it comes light shows! Pack the kids in the car, brew some hot chocolate and enjoy an evening drive of viewing Christmas lights.

Here are local Christmas light shows in and around Forsyth County, GA for the 2017 holiday season!

The Christmas in Castille light show is located at 4220 Tivoli Way, Alpharetta, GA 30004. The show starts at 6 PM and runs until 9 PM on Thursdays – Saturdays through Dec 23rd. The neighborhood is gated so when the gates close for the night, the show ends. When you drive up, tune your radio to 89.9FM. Check out their FB page for updates and weather alerts.

Lanier Islands Christmas – nightly – 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Get ready to be amazed by one of the best holiday light displays in the southeast. Drive through miles of dazzling lights and experience the joy of the season here at Lanier Islands! For a quarter century Lanier Islands has been the ultimate place to visit near Atlanta for holiday light displays.

For those unfamiliar with Magical Lights, it is 7 miles of lighting extravaganza that winds along the Lanier Islands’ roadways. Starting at the animated Carousel, down through the Toy Soldiers, up past the illuminated diamond wonder light, under the snowflake bridge, then all the way to Santa’s Workshop, the Christmas Carnival and more!

Your journey does not stop with the lights. Sunday, December 17 at 7:00 pm – Ashebrooke Night of Lights: Ashebrooke Subdivisions – Bethelview Road (between Kelly Mill and Hwy 20.) Visit Ashebrooke Subdivision for the 11th annual “Night of Lights” –  the residents of Ashebrooke light up their streets and their homes with luminary bags & candles to put on a great display of lights in an effort to help raise money for a worthy cause.  5005 Luke Dr, Cumming GA 30040

Please note: For traffic flow, Ashebrooke is requesting visitors enter through the Luke Dr. entrance (Address listed above) and exit via Northridge Dr. Exit 13 – West from GA 400.

Dawson Junction Subdivision – nightly through December 25 – 121 Switchman Lane, Dawsonville GA 30534. Sun – Thur 5:30- 10pm and Friday & Saturday 5:30 – 11pm. Tune your radio station to 107.7 to make the light show start.

Happy House in Cumming, 5455 Young Deer Dr Cumming GA 30041. The Christmas lights are on daily from 6pm until 10pm from now til January 1. Happy House has 100,000 + lights and named Happy House by the children in the neighborhood. No fancy music or wild flashing lights more like an Old Fashioned Christmas enjoyed by young and old.

Canton Christmas Light Show

Holiday Lights at Veterans Park, 7345 Cumming Highway, Canton, GA 30115. The new park in Cherokee Co. on Highway 20 North side just outside Forsyth has an unbelievable one million lights display. It’s $20 a car load! Nightly at 6:00 pm through January 6, 2018.
