6:00 pm – Forsyth Central High School Softball Pink Out Tournament at Central Park. Each year the Forsyth Central High School Softball Team hosts a benefit Pink Out tournament for the Northside Hospital Cancer Center. This year the tournament is being held at Central Park on Friday September 8 and Saturday September 9. Friday games begin at 6:00 pm on Fields 2-3 and Saturday games begin at 9:00 am on Fields 4-7. Admission is $5.00. Fourteen high school feeder teams will play in the tournament. 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Eggstravaganza at Warbington Farms – Join us for an “EGGstravagant” day at the farm. Admission is $10 kids and $5 adults. Included in admission is:

Spring break is here! If you are having a staycation, there’s lots of fun things to do in and around Forsyth County, GA. Here are a few local things – please comment & share if you have any ideas for other families as well.

Forsyth County Library – the library has a whole week planned including a viewing of Moana and a Polynesian hula party at the end of the week! See their spring break lineup here – just select your library.

Michaels – Michaels has kids crafts during the week to add to your child’s creativity and give you new ideas for crafting! Here is a listing of the Spring MAKE camp for this coming week.

There are also a few Spring Break camps at Sweet & Sassy and the City of Cumming and Forsyth County.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kids Workshop – Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a bunny basket, perfect for keeping Easter treats a short hop away. Once the basket is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Make a Sprout Easter Canvas! Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth. Join us as we celebrate the release of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. In addition to a special Storytime, kids of all ages are invited to sing favorite songs from the movie soundtrack and participate in other fun activities. Attendees will receive a mini-poster and bookmark, while supplies last.

11:00 am – 5:00 pm – Strawberry Shortcake Tea Party at Warbington Farms. Join us for a “berry” special event on Saturday April 1st. Tea times for Saturday will be from 11am-12:30pm and 1:30- 3:00pm. We will have light refreshments, crafts, songs, dancing & story time with STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE. Admission to tea party does include the fun park (hayride, petting zoo, corn crib, jumping pillow, etc). ***If the tea party gets rained out the make up date is TBD***

11:00 am – 6:00 pm – Sawnee Association of the Arts presents Springtime In the City Show and Sale. This year we are excited to bring you Springtime In The City at the historic Brannon-Heard House in downtown Cumming. The show will run from March 22 through April 1 and will showcase the creative and stylish work from your neighbors – the members of the Sawnee Association of the Arts.

11:00 am – 4:00 pm – Sawnee Association of the Arts presents “Springtime in the City” the 16th Annual Members show and Sale.  Children’s Day on Saturday March 25 th from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. with hands on arts and crafts for the kids.  Admission is free. Please visit http://sawneeart.org/springtime-in-the-city-2017/. The art show is free and open to the public. Hours are 11 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday.  There will be a Lunch and Learn program starting on March 27th for the entire week bringing in Bluegrass music, news from the historical society, the faces of quilt making, cake decorating and the week will end with a day of painting with a live model all free and open to the public. The Brannon-Heard House is located at 111 Pilgrim Mill Road, Cumming Ga 30041.
