Here are local Christmas light shows in and around Forsyth County, GA for the 2017 holiday season!

The Christmas in Castille light show is located at 4220 Tivoli Way, Alpharetta, GA 30004. The show starts at 6 PM and runs until 9 PM on Thursdays – Saturdays through Dec 23rd. The neighborhood is gated so when the gates close for the night, the show ends. When you drive up, tune your radio to 89.9FM. Check out their FB page for updates and weather alerts.

Lanier Islands Christmas – nightly – 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Get ready to be amazed by one of the best holiday light displays in the southeast. Drive through miles of dazzling lights and experience the joy of the season here at Lanier Islands! For a quarter century Lanier Islands has been the ultimate place to visit near Atlanta for holiday light displays.

For those unfamiliar with Magical Lights, it is 7 miles of lighting extravaganza that winds along the Lanier Islands’ roadways. Happy House in Cumming, 5455 Young Deer Dr Cumming GA 30041. The Christmas lights are on daily from 6pm until 10pm from now til January 1. Happy House has 100,000 + lights and named Happy House by the children in the neighborhood. No fancy music or wild flashing lights more like an Old Fashioned Christmas enjoyed by young and old.

Canton Christmas Light Show

Holiday Lights at Veterans Park, 7345 Cumming Highway, Canton, GA 30115. The new park in Cherokee Co. on Highway 20 North side just outside Forsyth has an unbelievable one million lights display. It’s $20 a car load! Nightly at 6:00 pm through January 6, 2018.

Pumpkin Patches In and Around Forsyth County, GA in 2017

pumpkin patches in forsyth county gaBelieve it or not, Fall 2017 pumpkin season is here in North Georgia! Here are a few neat places to pick a pumpkin in and around Forsyth County, GA.

For years, we have been going to Kinsey Family Farm in Forsyth County, GA to pick out our annual pumpkin. Unfortunately, the Kinsey Farm was hit pretty hard by Irma, so please check their website and FB page for their open times.

The farm features hayrides, barn animals and catfish to feed in the pond among other fun things. There are picnic tables if you would like to bring a picnic lunch. Sample their caramel apples or boiled peanuts (available after 10/1.) They also have a 25,000 square foot nursery and during the holidays you can pick out a Christmas tree and enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows.

The farm is open every day in October and features a wide variety of pumpkins as well as apples, gourds, corn stalks, indian corn, straw bales, and much more. Check out their fall harvest shop and pick up some apples, salsa, jam, honey, breads, preserves and much more!

Opening late afternoon on September 30, the pumpkin patch will be open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Saturdays and 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Sundays – Fridays throughout the month of October. Around Forsyth County

Saturday June 3 at 6:30 pm – Pete’s Dragon – Movies Under the Stars Summer Series at Mall of Georgia. As part of the summer series, local bands will take the stage at The Village Pavilion from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and the feature film will shine on a 35-foot big screen at The Village Amphitheatre starting at dusk (around 9 p.m.). Guests can also enjoy a variety of fun games, jump time in bounce houses, summer snack concessions such as shaved ice and more. As always, shoppers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to get cozy for the music and motion picture production!

North Point Mall Carnival – Come visit the carnival Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the parking lot between the Sears and JC Penney stores from 5 to 11 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 11 p.m. weekends. The carnival will have 18 to 20 rides, games, food and restroom facilities.

Pick strawberries at Warbington Farms! The 2017 strawberry season is in full swing!  Strawberry season usually runs till second week of June. Price is $14 (plus tax) for U-Pick and $16 (plus tax) for Pre-Picked. We provide the buckets and do not allow outside containers in the field. Please keep in mind that we do close the field for inclement weather. Berry picking is based on availability and we close the fields once the berries are picked out for the day.

4:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Lambert Farmers Market grand opening on Saturday afternoon, May 27th, from 4pm to 8pmLambert’s farmers market will operate this season from May 27th to October 28th. They are excited to bring a variety of products from an array of vendors to this community! We hope that the Lambert Farmers Market will strengthen the bond between the locals in the area while increasing awareness of where their food comes from. 4:00 pm – First Baptist Cumming on Sawnee Drive is hosting “Brother Bob’s BBQ” at during their annual Memorial Day weekend festivities.  There will be live music, face painting, inflatables, hay rides, a dunk tank and BBQ.  There will be a short patriotic salute at the end of the afternoon honoring those who have served. Adults:  $6, Kids: $3, Guests: Free.

8:00 am – Memorial Day Run/Walk for Autism. Shiloh Point Elementary, 8145 Majors Rd, Cumming, GA. There will be a 5k, 10k and a Fun Run! This Memorial Day race supports TACA (TALK ABOUT CURING AUTISM). TACA’s goal is to provide education, support, and information to parents to help their children diagnosed with autism be the very best they can be, with the hope of recovery. *The 5k race is the 2nd event in the North GA Running Co. Race Series and the 10k is the first event in the North GA Running Co. Races Series.

Pick strawberries at Warbington Farms! The 2017 strawberry season is in full swing!  Strawberry season usually runs till second week of June. Price is $14 (plus tax) for U-Pick and $16 (plus tax) for Pre-Picked. We provide the buckets and do not allow outside containers in the field. Please keep in mind that we do close the field for inclement weather. Berry picking is based on availability and we close the fields once the berries are picked out for the day.

The City of Alpharetta and Splash Festivals are excited to present the 13th Annual Alpharetta Arts Streetfest on Memorial Day weekend- May 27, 28 and 29, 2017.  This 3 day event will host more than 90 colorful artisans from around the country will showcase their works in the Alpharetta Historic District.  This much anticipated festival will feature live music, cultural arts performances, entertaining children’s activities, and a variety festival cuisine.

Christmas Light Shows in Cumming, GAIt’s holiday festivity time, and with it comes light shows! Pack the kids in the car, brew some hot chocolate and enjoy an evening drive of viewing Christmas lights.

There are local Christmas light shows in Forsyth County, GA, Alpharetta and Dawsonville for the 2016 holiday season as well as the Lanier Islands Christmas!

The Christmas in Castille light show is located at 4220 Tivoli Way, Alpharetta, GA 30004. The show starts at 6 PM and runs until 9 PM on Thursdays – Saturdays beginning on Dec 1st through Dec 24th.
