There will still be plenty of time for a “hey”ride to feed the cows, feeding the animals in the petting zoo, and playing in the fun park. Fun Park will be open from 10:00-5pm. Storytime at 12:30 and 2:30 and planting in the garden will be at 11:30, 1:30, and 3:30 Story-time and planting are FREE with Fun Park Admission which is $9 kids and $5 adults. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Make a Sprout Easter Canvas! Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

8:00 am – Pi Day 5K Race at West Forsyth High School. Join teachers, students and families for the 2nd Annual Pi Day Race. The Pi Day Race provides the perfect opportunity to build excitement around mathematics and science education!  Pi Day, is a fun celebration used by educators to draw attention to the important mathematical number pi. Pi, a transcendental number, is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter. Pi Day Race has an innovative twist! While many 5K runs are 3.1 miles, the Pi Day 5-K will be a 3.14 mile run/walk. We are encouraging schools, universities, businesses, and families to come out to run/walk together to support and foster excitement about mathematics and science education. The Pi Day Race 5k will beneifit Literacy Forsyth. The mission of Literacy Forsyth is to provide adult literacy services that educate, build self-sufficiency, and strengthen the community’s economic base. The family-friendly event will be held at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is one family-sized bag of candy per family.Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to Trunk or Treat, which will feature a variety of fun activities and games. The 49th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, GA – October 21 – 23, 2016

8:00 AM – Fairy Tale Dash 5K/1 Mile for Jesse’s House Foster Home. Once upon a time there lived princesses that needed rescuing. These princesses all had one thing in common: their lives weren’t quite at the happily ever after chapter yet. They had endured dragons, evil queens, and so much more. They came to the kingdom for safety and protection. On October 15, 2016, come dressed up to run or walk in support of these princesses. Fairy Tale Dash for Jesse’s House offers a certified 5K course starting at Fowler Park continuing onto the beautiful Forsyth Big Creek Greenway and finishing coming back into the park. The 5k begins at 8am and is a flat, fast course. This race will be a 2017 Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Packet Pick Up is at Academy Sports in The Collections on Friday, October 14, 2016 1:30pm – 7:30pm. Packet pick up will also be available race day at the Large Pavilion at Fowler Park starting at 7:00am. Registration is now open.
