10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Earth Day Projects! Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

10:00 am – 5:00 pm – Warbington Farms Farmer for A Day: Change the way your child thinks about food! There will be a story-time about plants and gardening then kids (and adults) will learn about spring gardening and each child take a seed home to watch grow! There will still be plenty of time for a “hey”ride to feed the cows, feeding the animals in the petting zoo, and playing in the fun park. Fun Park will be open from 10:00-5pm. Storytime at 12:30 and 2:30 and planting in the garden will be at 11:30, 1:30, and 3:30 Story-time and planting are FREE with Fun Park Admission which is $9 kids and $5 adults. Purchase tickets the day of event.

Wide variety of southern plants from local growers, trees, shrubs, veggies, hard-to-find native plants, unique garden accents, and more. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and offer expert advice on planting, growing, and caring for your plants. Covered, heated venue — we’re on rain or shine! Proceeds benefit local gardening outreach activities.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kids Workshop – Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a bunny basket, perfect for keeping Easter treats a short hop away. Once the basket is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Make a Sprout Easter Canvas! Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth. Join us as we celebrate the release of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. In addition to a special Storytime, kids of all ages are invited to sing favorite songs from the movie soundtrack and participate in other fun activities. Attendees will receive a mini-poster and bookmark, while supplies last.

11:00 am – 5:00 pm – Strawberry Shortcake Tea Party at Warbington Farms. Join us for a “berry” special event on Saturday April 1st. Tea times for Saturday will be from 11am-12:30pm and 1:30- 3:00pm. We will have light refreshments, crafts, songs, dancing & story time with STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE. Admission to tea party does include the fun park (hayride, petting zoo, corn crib, jumping pillow, etc). ***If the tea party gets rained out the make up date is TBD***

*pint of strawberries are not included in tea party. We are not sure if the berries will be ready by the date. If berries are ripe, guest are welcome to purchase containers at ticket booth.

* Don’t leave the boys at home! They are welcome to purchase general fun park tickets at the gate ($9 kids & $5 adults) and enjoy all the farm fun and of course boys are welcome at the party if they wish!
*The farm will be open from 10:00-5:00 on Saturday.

11:00 am – 6:00 pm – Sawnee Association of the Arts presents Springtime In the City Show and Sale. This year we are excited to bring you Springtime In The City at the historic Brannon-Heard House in downtown Cumming. The show will run from March 22 through April 1 and will showcase the creative and stylish work from your neighbors – the members of the Sawnee Association of the Arts.

City Produce is officially open…finally! Tomatoes look good, cut good and TASTE good! We also have dill cucumbers, green tomatoes, okra, yellow crook neck squash, zucchini, Blue Lake snap beans, baby sweet potatoes, sweet corn, fresh shelled black-eyed peas and baby red potatoes. All fresh from Florida. Also, Hoop cheese, country butter and Amish butter.

10:00 am – 3:00 pm – Lazy D Farm in Ball Ground, GA will present its 10th annual Sheep To Shawl. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11. Sheep shearing begins at 10:30 a.m. Come have ole fashion fun with members of the Appalachian Heritage Guild’s demonstrations including: blacksmithing, butter churning, pottery, wood carving, quilting, tatting, weaving, spinning and processing wool, chair caning and more. There will be a honey bee demonstration with local honey available for purchase. Lunch will be available for purchase and Boy Scout Troop 465 will be cooking homemade peach cobblers in Dutch ovens. Cost for attendees ages 3 & up is $5 per person. The event will be fun for the whole family. The Farm is located at 848 Bishop Road in Ball Ground, GA. 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm – The Humane Society of Forsyth County’s annual Spay-ghetti & No Meatball fundraiser is a fun night of all you can eat pasta at the amazing Bello Italian in Cumming, GA. Proceeds from this special event go to fund SNAP, our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program founded in 2009. Available to low income pet owners, we offer spay/neuter surgery vouchers redeemable at participating local veterinarians.

Event Details:

Friday, April 11

11:15 am – 12:00 pm – Cumming Library Storybook Parade! We all love a parade! Come dressed as your favorite storybook character. We will read a story, march in a parade around the library, and enjoy a yummy treat. Ages 18 months to 5 years. No registration required.

11:15 – 11:45 am – Preschool Pals at the Hampton Park Library. Share the fun of reading with your children ages 3-5 years! We’ll explore stories and activities to encourage children along a lifelong path of reading and learning. Hear stories, sing songs, and develop the skills needed to become a successful reader. Preschool Pals programs are for children ages 3-5 and their parents or caregivers. Advance registration is not required for this program.

6:00 pm – Camp Out with the Horses – Bring your tent, family and friends to enjoy a peaceful night in the pasture. Enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks & desserts and campfire singalong. Cost: $40.00 per tent.  Price includes all food & drinks. Rain date: April 25th. All proceeds to benefit Save the Horses (Horse Rescue Relief & Retirement Fund, Inc. a 501(c)3 organization.) Save The Horses – 1768 Newt Green Road, Cumming, GA.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble story time. Corduroy the Bear has been a favorite character for many years and he will be visiting our store for Storytime. Come join us as we welcome him.

11:00 am – North Georgia Quarter Midget Kids Racing – Cumming Fairgrounds. That is what you will find at the Bill Thomas Raceway located at the Cumming Fairgrounds, home of the North Georgia Quarter Midget Racing Association (NGQMA). Saturdays between March and November, you will find boys and girls, ages 5-16, take to the track, pedal to the metal. Race on over for some wheel to wheel action!  Admisison is always free and concessions are available.

11:15 am – 12:15 pm – Post Road Library Saturday Family Story Time. Start your weekend off right at the Post Road library. We’ll have stories, dancing, and fun! This storytime is for children aged 4-8 but bring the whole family!

11:15 am – 11:45 am – Saturday Story Time at Cumming Library. This storytime includes books, music, and activities. It is designed for ages 4 – 8, but the whole family is welcome to attend.

Sunday, April 13

2:00 pm – 3:45 pm – 80s Movie Matinee at Hampton Park Library. Due to licensing restrictions, we can’t advertise the titles of our movies online. However, see if you can guess this week’s film by the following description: John Candy stars as a ne’er-do-well bachelor who’s left in charge of his nephew and two nieces. Carefree and fun loving, he’s the last person you’d want to watch the kids, but with a little luck and a lot of love, he might just surprise everyone.

2:30 pm – 4:30 pm – Lanier United Methodist Church, along with Lanier Christian Preschool, is hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt on the church front lawn on Sunday, April 13th at 2:30 PM (Rain date Saturday, April 19th at 11:00 AM). There will be a train ride, bouncy house, and refreshments. There is no cost. Bring a carload! The church is located at 1979 Buford Highway, Cumming, 30041. More Information: 770-887-0615.
