We will have Food trucks, Fire Department, Inflatables, Carnival Games, Cake Walk, Hero Dog Rescue with Adoptions, Local Vendors, Face Painting and more! The cost is $15/wristband. The wristbands allow unlimited access to the games (excluding cake walk), inflatables, and most activities. Parents & children under 3 are free.

5:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Food Truck Friday! Join the Otwell Middle School Bulldogs for food trucks, fun & entertainment. All profits will be donated to Otwell and used for needed renovations & upgrades. 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Trunk or Treat at Warbington Farms – Come trick-or-treat in a safe environment while enjoying a crisp fall day on the farm. Walk from trunk to trunk of vehicles filled with spooks and surprises! Plenty of candy for everyone! Event is free with fun park admission ($10) which also includes Corn Maze, hayride, petting zoo, jumbo pillow, corn crib, slides, swings & more activities. Come dressed in costume and receive $1 off admission (adults & children). Purchase tickets at ticket booth the day of.

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Boo Bash Trick or Treating at North Georgia Outlets. Join the spooktacular fun at the 2nd Annual BOO BASH & Trick-or-Treating event on Saturday, October 29th from 4pm- 7pm. DJ Crazy Mike will be playing the tunes in the Gazebo along with the FREE Halloween Photo Booth, games and treats for kids 12 and under. Pick up a list of participating Trick-or-Treat stores at Guest Services. Please note anyone over the age of 18 may not wear a Halloween mask on property.

11:15 AM – 11:45 am – Hampton Park Library – Preschool Pals Story time – These 30 minute programs are designed to promote language, listening, and pre-reading skills by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a variety of literature, and participation in language-related activities.  Hear stories, sing songs, and develop the skills needed to become a successful reader. This program is suggested for children, ages 3-5, with a caregiver. Advance registration is not required for this program.

11:00 am – 4:00 pm – The annual Hay Day Fall Festival takes place at the Cumming, GA Save the Horses location every October, and proceeds are used to purchase hay for the animals to eat during the coming winter. This year’s event is on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Save the Horses is located at: 1768 Newt Green Road, Cumming, GA 30028

There will be great activities for kids of all ages (including the adult variety) such as hay rides, corn hole tournament, horse rides, a cake walk, petting zoo, and stables where you could visit and get to know some of the beautiful horses who live on the farm.   All proceeds go to savethehorses.org.

HALLOWEEN EVENTS NEAR FORSYTH COUNTY

Trick or Treat Dahlonega – Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on October 31st, 2014 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours.

The event will take place on Friday, October 31st from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! For safety reasons, the roads will be closed and re-routed during the event.

7:00 pm – Macbeth at Forsyth Central High School. Acclaimed as William Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, the action-packed show is full of intricate sword combat, and lots of tricks and special effects.  Macbeth runs Thursday October 24th and Thursday, October 31 at 7 p.m., and Friday October 25th at 6:30 p.m. Advanced tickets are now on sale for $10/$5 for students and can be purchased online or at the door the night of each performance.  Performances are at the Central High School Performing Arts Center, 520 Tribble Gap Road, Cumming, GA  30040. Recommended for older audiences.

10:30 am – Grand opening of Pollo Tropical at 1510 Marketplace Blvd in Cumming, GA!  The Cumming community will celebrate the newest Pollo Tropical opening with a 12-Hour Beach Party – turning thoughts of falling leaves into frolicking palm fronds, island music, beach games, and of course delicious food from the tropics!  One lucky Grand Opening Beach Party attendee will even win Free Pollo Tropical for a Year!* Participants are being urged to arrive as early as 8:00 a.m. to be among the first 100 guests in line for the restaurant’s 10:30 a.m. opening.  Participants must be present to win, and the drawing and winner announcement take place at 11:00 a.m. See website for contest details.

Pumpkin Palooza at Warbington Farms! Go for a hayride, have fun in the Farm park, visit the petting zoo, pick the pumpkin for the front porch. We will also have vendors every weekend from now until the 27th of October. Such as Origami Owl, Paparazzi jewelry, Hand made children’s items, wreaths by “Hang this wreath” Monogram shirts, much more. Hope to see you there! APPLE ORCHARDS / CORN MAZES / FARMS IN NORTH GEORGIA

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family FarmWarbington Farms and Kinsey Family Farm are also a fun-filled place to visit – check their websites for opening dates.

Hillcrest Orchards apple pickin’ jubilee runs every weekend through October. This is the only time that you can pick your own apples at this orchard. Pick your fun at the annual “Apple Pickin’ Jubilee” where you can pick your own apples, milk a cow, watch live pig races, walk a nature trail, visit the petting farm ($3.00 per person), take a wagon ride through the orchard, visit the Moonshine Museum and watch live bands and cloggers on the Hillcrest Stage. Hillcrest Orchards is open daily: 9:00am – 6:00pm (Sept. – Oct.) 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Nov.) Admission is free; we have concessions and plenty of excitement for the whole family. Quarter Midget Racing is a family oriented sport for children ages 5 to 16. Children race in Quarter Midget cars that are a scaled-down (approximately 1/4 scale) version of an actual midget-racecar on oval tracks that are approximately 1/20th of a mile.

Many area restaurants will serve samples of their food, a silent auction will feature unique items, professional services, gift certificates and more. Local crafters will have items for purchase that will make wonderful Christmas gifts! Tickets are only $8.00 per person.  Includes free photo with Santa.  Proceeds support the North Forsyth Raider Marching Band.

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm –  Good Shepherd Catholic Church’s seventh annual chili cook-off. All you can eat for $5, or enter a pot for $5 and eat for free.
