October 22 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Forsyth County Trunk or Treat Safety Event at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Bring the whole family and have fun while learning how to stay safe this Halloween during the seventh annual Trunk or Treat Safety Event. The family-friendly event will be held at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is one family-sized bag of candy per family. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to Trunk or Treat, which will feature a variety of fun activities and games. There will also be information on costume safety, pedestrian safety, stranger danger, stop-drop-roll demonstrations and more.

October 23, 2016 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Castleberry Road Baptist Church Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat – Please mark your calendars for our Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat we are hosting for our community.  We will have an evening of family fun and excitement as we bring in multiple bouncy houses, games, food, and fun for the entire family. October 29 – 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Trick-or-Treat on the Farm at Warbington Farms. Bring the family out for a “Spooktacular” day of Trick-or-Treating at the farm. Come trick-or-treat in a safe environment while enjoying a crisp fall day on the farm. Walk from trunk to trunk of vehicles filled with spooks and surprises! Plenty of candy for everyone! October 30 from 5:00 – 7:30 pm – Trunk or Treat at Vickery Village. ReThink Group will host their annual Trunk or Treat event for children in our community. Kids in costume and their parents are invited to join us starting at 5 pm on October 30th for Trunk or Treating at Vickery Village and other Halloween festivities.

HALLOWEEN BOO BASH October 29 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – North Georgia Premium Outlets presents it’s first BOO BASH for kids 12 and under! Saturday, October 29 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. FREE Trick-or-Treating bags for kids 12 and under at Guest Services located in the Food Pavilion (while supplies last) Trick-or-Treating at participating stores. Check back for more tricks and treats to come for kids 12 and under. Please note, only kids 12 and under may wear masks.

Trunk or Treat Dawsonville October 31 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Rock Creek Park, Dawsonville, GA – Come out to Rock Creek on Halloween 4:00-7:00PM to trunk-or-treat with your family! The purpose of this event is to provide the children in the community with a safe place to trick-or-treat. Rock Creek is a well-lit area that provides plenty of parking, restrooms, and easy access! We will designate a specific area in the park for the trunk-or-treat and have it sectioned off so that vehicle traffic will not be permitted, providing a traffic-free area for the children. Admission is free and so are most of the activities; concessions/dinner will be available for purchase. CANDY, treats/toys, promotional items/freebies, carnival games, bounce house, hay rides, face painting, MORE CANDY! Sorry, no pets (service animals only, please).

Trick or Treat Dahlonega – Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on October 31st, 2016 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours.

The event will take place on October 31st from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! For safety reasons, the roads will be closed and re-routed during the event.

Gold Rush Days in downtown Dahlonega gives you the opportunity to pan for gold, taste food Southern food and hear music from bluegrass, country, gospel and contemporary musicians. The 61st annual event will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18 located at 13 S. 11:15 AM – 11:45 am – Hampton Park Library – Preschool Pals Story time – These 30 minute programs are designed to promote language, listening, and pre-reading skills by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a variety of literature, and participation in language-related activities.  Hear stories, sing songs, and develop the skills needed to become a successful reader. This program is suggested for children, ages 3-5, with a caregiver. Advance registration is not required for this program.

11:00 am – 4:00 pm – The annual Hay Day Fall Festival takes place at the Cumming, GA Save the Horses location every October, and proceeds are used to purchase hay for the animals to eat during the coming winter. This year’s event is on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Save the Horses is located at: 1768 Newt Green Road, Cumming, GA 30028

There will be great activities for kids of all ages (including the adult variety) such as hay rides, corn hole tournament, horse rides, a cake walk, petting zoo, and stables where you could visit and get to know some of the beautiful horses who live on the farm.   All proceeds go to savethehorses.org.

HALLOWEEN EVENTS NEAR FORSYTH COUNTY

Trick or Treat Dahlonega – Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on October 31st, 2014 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours.

The event will take place on Friday, October 31st from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! For safety reasons, the roads will be closed and re-routed during the event.

Friday, October 19

3:00 pm – 10:00 pm – Cumming Greek Festival– Saints Raphael Nicholas Irene Greek Orthodox Church, 3074 Bethelview Road, Cumming, GA 30040. Each year in October, an entertaining Greek village appears on the 15 acre property of Sts. Raphael, Nicholas and Irene off Bethelview Road in South Forsyth County. The scent and sounds of authentic Greek food and music will fill the air, creating a festive atmosphere. The event offers visitors a unique opportunity to share in the rich history of the Greek culture and it’s beautiful traditions. Period costumed Hellenic Dancers will perform various traditional Greek dances throughout the day and night of the two day event. Curious shops with art, jewelry, and other Aegean items will compliment the culinary offerings and entertainment. Traditional village cuisine will be served at the Greek restaurant, or Taverna. Wonderful Souvlaki (soov-ly-kee), Pastitsio (past-eet-sio), Gyros (ye-rrr-ohs) and other authentic food is also on the full menu. At another shop in the village, delicious, better than donuts, Loukoumades (loo-koo-mah-dez) will be cooked in front of you, then hand dipped in honey. Dahlonega Gold Rush Days– Gold Rush Days are held the third weekend in October (the 20th and 21st for 2012), when thousands come to see fall colors peaking and celebrate Dahlonega’s 1828 discovery of gold. Over 300 art and craft exhibitors gather around the Public Square and Historic District in support of this annual event, and it is estimated that a crowd of over 200,000 visit over the weekend to join in the fun and excitement! It has been voted one of the Top 20 Events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. Included in the two day event are a parade, children’s activities, a fashion show, gold panning contest, wheelbarrow race, King and Queen Coronation, hog calling, buck dancing contest, gospel singing and other live entertainment, wrist wrestling, and last but not least – some delicious food!

The hayrides will be weekends only until October then the hayrides will be 7 days a week. Hayride cost: Adults $5.00, Kids 12 & under $4.00, infants 12 months and under free.

APPLE ORCHARDS/CORN MAZES/FARM FUN

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family Farm and Kinsey Family Farm are also fun-filled places to visit.
