9:00 am – 1:00 pm – Electronics Recycling Event – Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) invites residents to recycle their unused paint and old electronics during the upcoming paint and electronics recycling event, held every fall and spring. This fall’s recycling event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot 3 off of Castleberry Road.

9:00 am – 3:00 pm – First Baptist Cumming Fall Bazaar. Unique Christmas and gift items, artwork, antiques. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. $1.00 admission. Bake sale.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kids Workshop – Build a Veterans Day Toy Helicopter. Join our hands-on workshop in honor of Veterans Day, and you and your child can build a toy helicopter with turning blades! Once the toy helicopter is built, your child can decorate it with paint & stickers to create a mini-military vehicle.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels KIDS CLUB: Make a yarn hot cocoa mug! Ages 3 and up are welcome to this event. See a store associate for details today. $2.00. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10:00am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join the fun!

10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Abba House Fall Fest – Abba House will host an entirely free Fall Festival to give back for all of the support that they have received through their 16 years in the North Georgia community. It is a chance for you to enjoy lunch, music, carnival games, snacks, and activities for children and adults all while bringing awareness of the ministry that Abba House does and to their 25,000 square foot 400 North Thrift Store location. It is also a chance to raise funds for the women and children of Abba House. This is our fourth year hosting this event, and we can tell you, it is not your average fall festival. You will not be disappointed! All you have to do to participate is gather up your family and show up for a day of free fun. Abba House’s 400 North Thrift Store is located just over three miles north of the outlet mall on GA-400 and GA-136. We can’t wait to see you all!

Have a rockin’ time at our Storytime to the fun of Footloose, rewritten for children by the one and only Kenny Loggins. To add to the fun, the book includes a CD with new recordings by Kenny Loggins. At 10:00 AM the actual races will begin and the skill and speed of the participants will determine the fastest entries. The money raised by each team will determine coveted Merit Award for Fundraising. Between the races and the judging of beds, visitors are encouraged to visit the various booths and help individual groups raise money. Those booths will also be eligible for prizes based on originality and fundraising achievements.

This grand event is being held on Nov. 14th & 15th at the Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Technical College, located at 3410 Ronald Regan Blvd, Cumming GA. The Christmas Arts & Crafts Festival at Lanier Tech is the largest indoor/outdoor arts and crafts festival in Forsyth County, with over 90 vendors; it has become an established community event with local residents. Children will have the opportunity to play in two Moonwalks (weather permitting) and help raise funds for the Challenged Child & Friends organization; Shop for gifts in the Elf Corner, a special shop just for kids were Elves will help them choose gifts for friends and family, gift wrapping included; Parents can capture their children’s special visit with Santa using their own cameras for a small donation. 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm – Vickery Village Craft Fair at Glen Willow Park on Low County Rd in Cumming . Enjoy an afternoon of fun, crafts and food in our beautiful Glen Willow Park. Vickery has over 20 vendors who will be displaying and selling goods. If you are looking for a special gift or something for yourself, you are sure to find it . From handmade jewelry and purses to monogrammed anything, antiques, refurbished wood pieces, children’s books and clothing, or housewares just to name a few of the items the vendors will have. 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Sensitive Santa at Hampton Park Library – registration required. Parents of children with sensory or other special needs can sign their children up to visit Santa for a 10-minute session. This gives the child time to get familiar with Santa and warm up to the idea of sitting on his lap or talking to him, rather than being rushed through the visit.

Friday, December 5

10:30 am – 11:30 am – Hampton Park Library – Preschool Play Day. Join us for a morning of playing and learning! This program will have fun, engaging activities specifically designed to help support early literacy. This program is suggested for children 5 and under, with a caregiver. Registration recommended.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Holiday Bazaar at Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs, 2830 Old Atlanta Rd. Cumming, GA 30041. We have over 25 vendors selling unique items; educational board games, hand crafted jewelry, jams, holiday decor, and much more!

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – German Christmas Market at South Forsyth High School. South Forsyth High School will hold this year’s German Christmas Market on Saturday, December 6 from 9am to noon at the East Hall Cafeteria. This popular annual event has high school students teach younger kids seasonal arts and crafts. There will be about 20 arts and crafts stations where children and their families can decorate ornaments, build ginger bread houses, have their faces painted, etc. This is a free community event for families sponsored by the German program at SFHS.
