Nov. 17, 2017 – Jan. 3, 2018: Magical Nights of Lights 25th Anniversary at Lanier Islands – Drive through larger-than-life holiday light displays at Lanier Islands while you hear songs of the season on your radio or smartphone. Enhance the experience with the companion app, and stop at the Holiday Village to visit Santa, shop for gifts, and ride carnival rides. Admission to the 25th Anniversary of Magical Nights of Lights and Holiday Village is just $45/vehicle* when purchased at the gate and $35/vehicle* when purchased in advance online. Magical Nights of Lights and Holiday Village operates from 5pm – 10pm nightly from November 17 – January 3.

The Ice Rink @ North Georgia is a seasonal outdoor ice rink at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall in Dawsonville, GA open from Nov 17 – Jan 5.

Christmas in Castille – Opens November 30! The light show runs Thursday – Saturdays from 6-9pm until December 23rd. Turn your radio dial to 89.9 and enjoy the Christmas lights on this magical street. 4220 Tivoli Way, Alpharetta, GA. The light show is free and they are taking donations for a local charity through the West Forsyth DECA Club.

Kinsey Family Farm – Our Christmas festivities, including wagon rides, hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting, Christmas tree picking and general merriment, have begun! If you would like some quality time with your family please feel free to come out and join us! The 2017 Christmas season will be in operation from Saturday, November 18th until December 20th. Due to our desire to celebrate the holidays with our own families we will not be open on Thanksgiving day or Christmas Eve.

9:00 am – 1:00 pm – Electronics Recycling Event – Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) invites residents to recycle their unused paint and old electronics during the upcoming paint and electronics recycling event, held every fall and spring. This fall’s recycling event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot 3 off of Castleberry Road.

9:00 am – 3:00 pm – First Baptist Cumming Fall Bazaar. Unique Christmas and gift items, artwork, antiques. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. $1.00 admission. Bake sale.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Home Depot Kids Workshop – Build a Veterans Day Toy Helicopter. Join our hands-on workshop in honor of Veterans Day, and you and your child can build a toy helicopter with turning blades! Once the toy helicopter is built, your child can decorate it with paint & stickers to create a mini-military vehicle.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels KIDS CLUB: Make a yarn hot cocoa mug! Ages 3 and up are welcome to this event. See a store associate for details today. $2.00. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop! Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. 10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Abba House Fall Fest – Abba House will host an entirely free Fall Festival to give back for all of the support that they have received through their 16 years in the North Georgia community. It is a chance for you to enjoy lunch, music, carnival games, snacks, and activities for children and adults all while bringing awareness of the ministry that Abba House does and to their 25,000 square foot 400 North Thrift Store location. It is also a chance to raise funds for the women and children of Abba House. This is our fourth year hosting this event, and we can tell you, it is not your average fall festival. You will not be disappointed! All you have to do to participate is gather up your family and show up for a day of free fun. Abba House’s 400 North Thrift Store is located just over three miles north of the outlet mall on GA-400 and GA-136. We can’t wait to see you all!

Visitors can vote (with their dollars) for the most original, and funniest beds. At 10:00 AM the actual races will begin and the skill and speed of the participants will determine the fastest entries. The money raised by each team will determine coveted Merit Award for Fundraising. Between the races and the judging of beds, visitors are encouraged to visit the various booths and help individual groups raise money. Those booths will also be eligible for prizes based on originality and fundraising achievements.

Friday, December 5 & Saturday, December 6 – MarketPlace Christmas – Celebration of Lights, Jingle Job and Christmas Parade – Start the weekend off on Friday at the Celebration of Lights at Northside Hospital – Forsyth with live entertainment from local schools and groups, children activities, photos with Santa and the lighting of the giant Christmas tree atop the hospital. Saturday participate in a short run/walk in the Jingle Jog 5K that takes you down Mary Alice Park Road and back to Market Place Boulevard. Then kick back and enjoy the season with your community, family and friends to cheer on the festive floats in the Cumming Christmas Parade.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Rivers Alive Cleanup – Mary Alice Park, Cumming, GA. Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) is seeking volunteers to help clean local waterways. The 2013 Rivers Alive Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, at 9 a.m. and KFCB encourages families, scout troops and organizations to volunteer for the annual waterway cleanup event. Volunteer teams can register for the event by calling KFCB at 770.205.4573 or by sending an email to kfcb @ forsythco.com. The registration deadline is Tuesday, October 30. Volunteers will meet at Mary Alice Park (1820 Mary Alice Park Road in Cumming) at 9 a.m. on November 3 to gather supplies. Volunteers will proceed to clean as many lake, river and wetland locations as possible before returning to Mary Alice Park for lunch.  To receive additional information about the 2013 Rivers Alive Cleanup, call KFCB at 770.205.4573.

Race on over for some wheel to wheel action!  Admisison is always free and concessions are available.

Ticket purchase will allow free admission to the MOPS Holiday Showcase. Tickets are $8 with a choice of either a succulent pulled BBQ chicken sandwich or a delicious bowl of homemade chicken chili. Both options will be served as a meal with sides and a drink. New this year, chicken chili “to go” by the quart – $12!
9:00 am – Bethlehem Baptist Church for our annual Fall Bazaar on November 2nd! We will have a silent auction, cake walk, and a country store loaded with crafts, holiday decorations, gifts, canned and homemade goods! A Chunkin’ Pumpkin contest will begin at 11 a.m. for different age groups and there will also be a scavenger hunt. 11:00 am – 6:00 pm – Quarter Midget Racing – Cumming Fairgrounds -The North Georgia Quarter Midget Association welcomes you and your family to come out and watch the races. Admission is free; we have concessions and plenty of excitement for the whole family. Quarter Midget Racing is a family oriented sport for children ages 5 to 16. Children race in Quarter Midget cars that are a scaled-down (approximately 1/4 scale) version of an actual midget-racecar on oval tracks that are approximately 1/20th of a mile.
