6:30 am – 10:30 am – Cumming Farmers Market at the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot on Castleberry Road in Cumming, GA. Please visit their Facebook page to get more information about locally produced vegetables, meat, baked goods, honey, soaps, flowers, art, woodworking and so much more! Open Saturdays and Wednesdays during the summer season.

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Forsyth County Parks & Recreation Community Yard Sale. The outdoor event will take place in the parking area of the Central Park Recreation Center located at 2300 Keith Bridge Road in Cumming. Event organizers expect more than 20 vendors selling a variety of household goods, children’s items, tools and more.

9:00 am – 9:00 am Sunday – Attention horse lovers! Special Olympics Fundraiser Ride-a-Thon at Iron Horse Farm in Milton, GA. Come out and watch as Iron Horse Farm’s riders “Stay in the Saddle” for 24 hours raising money to send the Iron Horse Special Olympic Equestrian Team to Georgia for the State Horse Show in October!  Iron Horse Farm & Iron Horse Therapy, 16470 Westbrook Rd, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004. Admission is free, but DONATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED! Want to stay for the whole event? We are providing canopies and large pillows for anyone who wants to take a nap or sleep!

Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze sponsored by the Georgia Foresty Association. This years’ design features some of Georgia’s happy wildlife neslted into their forest home! Uncle Shuck’s Maze is a 12 acre field of corn that has approximately 4 miles of trails, twisting and turning, and sometimes, coming to a deadend! Opening weekend is Sept. 9-10, 2017, come and kick off this year’s fall season. 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – The Place of Forsyth Fundraiser with LuLaRoe – Windermere Clubhouse – Join SIX LuLaRoe Consultants for a fundraiser for The Place of Forsyth County, Inc. We will each have our entire inventories for your to peruse, all while supporting a great cause!! There will be raffles and giveaways. You will not want to miss this event! The Place of Forsyth serves the community with financial emergency assistance, clothing, food, and many additional support services. They also provide a workforce development initiative in conjunction with several local agencies to help the under employed and unemployed prepare for, and secure, jobs. The Place also embraced an 8 year old service, Focus on Forsyth, which helps needy households through referrals from schools and senior centers. Through their services to the community, they are changing lives in Forsyth County, Georgia.

Pick strawberries at Warbington Farms! The 2017 strawberry season is in full swing!  Strawberry season usually runs till second week of June. Price is $14 (plus tax) for U-Pick and $16 (plus tax) for Pre-Picked. We provide the buckets and do not allow outside containers in the field. Please keep in mind that we do close the field for inclement weather. Berry picking is based on availability and we close the fields once the berries are picked out for the day.

Our annual Spring EGG-Stravaganza  takes place on the farm @ SavetheHorses every spring.  Proceeds from the event are used to help support the animals at the rescue. There will be great activities for kids of all ages  such as hay rides, Easter egg hunts,  pony rides, a cake walk, petting zoo, and stables where you can visit and get to know some of the beautiful animals who live on the farm.   All proceeds go to savethehorses.org. Free parking and admission. $1 tickets see website for activity ticket pricing.

10:00 AM – Hampton Park Library – Busy Builders. Let’s build something together! Playing with LEGO and other building blocks can help develop your child’s cognitive learning and social skills! Every Friday morning we will set out a collection of kid-friendly building blocks for an engaging and educational drop-in playtime. You bring your creativity, we’ll provide the rest! The program is designed for children ages 2-5 accompanied by a caregiver and is approximately 45 minutes long. Gold Rush Days in downtown Dahlonega gives you the opportunity to pan for gold, taste food Southern food and hear music from bluegrass, country, gospel and contemporary musicians. The 61st annual event will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18 located at 13 S. Park St. in Dahlonega and commemorates the first Gold Rush in Lumpkin County. The free two-day event will take place rain or shine. For more information, visit www.dahlonegajaycees.com.

The Harvest Balloon Festival is in Flowery Branch from 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. The sixth annual festival will feature autumn traditions along with new activities for a $1. All ages may participate in hayrides showcasing the changing leaves, and tethered balloon rides overlooking the festival grounds below with the weather permitting. Tethered rides will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 8-9:30 a.m. Oct. 18.
