Events Near Forsyth County, GA

Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival – Saturday, September 13 at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue in Gainesville, GA. Activities commence with races beginning at 7 am and the colorful Opening Ceremonies at noon. The race has grown from a handful of teams and a few spectators to an event which is one of the hallmark diversity events in the metro Atlanta area. The event now boasts a field of more than 50 teams with over 5,000 spectators and a wide variety of Chinese artisans either performing or displaying their wares.

Rucker Falling for Dock Dogs competition this weekend, September 12th, 13th, and 14th! Located at Rucker Pet & Wild Bird, 3245 Peachtree Parkway, Suwanee, GA 30024. Watch them jump, swim and splash!

Benefit for Humane Society of Forsyth County. There is an entry fee of $5.00 all proceeds will go directly to the Humane Society of Forsyth County. Tickets can be purchased at the door the evening of the event. Come show your support for the Humane Society of Forsyth County while enjoying dinner and drinks with your pooch. Volunteers are also needed for this event.

The Anderson’s Sunflowers have started to bloom. Please see their Facebook page for new rules this year including a parking fee. Due to a surge in popularity, they have had to make some changes. They don’t have a proper parking lot and are taking precautions to protect the farm.

Show starts at 5:00 PM. Live music will end at approximately 6:30 PM. Shop will be open until 8:00 PM. Complimentary refreshments will be served. $10 admission. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to The Humane Society of Forsyth County.
