4:30 pm – 7:00 pm – Chattahoochee Elementary Fall Festival – Chattahoochee Elementary School is having a Fall Festival on Friday, Oct 28th from 4:30-7pm. The event is open to the public. We will have Food trucks, Fire Department, Inflatables, Carnival Games, Cake Walk, Hero Dog Rescue with Adoptions, Local Vendors, Face Painting and more! The cost is $15/wristband. The wristbands allow unlimited access to the games (excluding cake walk), inflatables, and most activities. Parents & children under 3 are free.

5:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Food Truck Friday! Join the Otwell Middle School Bulldogs for food trucks, fun & entertainment. All profits will be donated to Otwell and used for needed renovations & upgrades. Something for everyone; burgers, BBQ, Indian and more*. 11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth story time – From the #1 New York Times bestselling team of Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond comes the ninth picture book in the blockbuster ‘If You Give …’ series, one of the most beloved children’s series of all time. With its spare, rhythmic text and circular tale, If You Give a Mouse a Brownie is perfect for beginning readers and Storytime. Activities to follow.

11:15 AM – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime at Post – Trick or Treat Storytime! 

2:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Trunk or Treat at Warbington Farms – Come trick-or-treat in a safe environment while enjoying a crisp fall day on the farm. Walk from trunk to trunk of vehicles filled with spooks and surprises! Plenty of candy for everyone! Event is free with fun park admission ($10) which also includes Corn Maze, hayride, petting zoo, jumbo pillow, corn crib, slides, swings & more activities. Come dressed in costume and receive $1 off admission (adults & children). Purchase tickets at ticket booth the day of.

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Boo Bash Trick or Treating at North Georgia Outlets. Join the spooktacular fun at the 2nd Annual BOO BASH & Trick-or-Treating event on Saturday, October 29th from 4pm- 7pm. DJ Crazy Mike will be playing the tunes in the Gazebo along with the FREE Halloween Photo Booth, games and treats for kids 12 and under. Pick up a list of participating Trick-or-Treat stores at Guest Services. Please note anyone over the age of 18 may not wear a Halloween mask on property.

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival at Christ Community Church. Our Fall Festival is coming on October 30th, from 4-6:30PM! It will feature a sports-themed trunk or treat, a tailgating atmosphere, a “Cook Your Butt Off” Boston Butt BBQ contest, games, and lots of fun and fellowship. Watch this space for more details. 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Vickery Village Trunk or Treat – Vickery Village, 5855 South Vickery Street, Cumming GA 30040. Free Admission and Open to the Community. Bring the whole family for a safe night of fun and games. We will have bouncy houses, snow cones, popcorn, games, a trunk or treat, a marshmallow roast, and MORE! What’s better? It’s all FREE! We hope to see YOU there.

6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Forsyth County Trunk or Treat Safety Event – Cumming Fairgrounds. Bring the whole family and have fun while learning how to stay safe this Halloween during the seventh annual Trunk or Treat Safety Event. The family-friendly event will be held at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is one family-sized bag of candy per family.Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to Trunk or Treat, which will feature a variety of fun activities and games. There will also be information on costume safety, pedestrian safety, stranger danger, stop-drop-roll demonstrations and more.

1:30 PM – Post Road Library – Diwali Celebration  -Join us at the Post Road Library for our third annual Diwali Celebration! We’ll be celebrating Indian culture with crafts, food, henna tattoos, performances, and more. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m, with performances beginning at 2:00 p.m. All ages and cultures welcome!

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Castleberry Road Baptist Church Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat – Join us for a fun time of games, prizes, food and make sure to bring your buckets for Trunk or Treat. The 49th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, GA – October 21 – 23, 2016
The Mountain Moonshine Festival explores Dawson County’s history during Prohibition and the Great Depression when running moonshine through the foothills of the Northeast Georgia mountains was a way of life. 8:00 AM – Fairy Tale Dash 5K/1 Mile for Jesse’s House Foster Home. Once upon a time there lived princesses that needed rescuing. These princesses all had one thing in common: their lives weren’t quite at the happily ever after chapter yet. They had endured dragons, evil queens, and so much more. They came to the kingdom for safety and protection. On October 15, 2016, come dressed up to run or walk in support of these princesses. Fairy Tale Dash for Jesse’s House offers a certified 5K course starting at Fowler Park continuing onto the beautiful Forsyth Big Creek Greenway and finishing coming back into the park. The 5k begins at 8am and is a flat, fast course. This race will be a 2017 Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Packet Pick Up is at Academy Sports in The Collections on Friday, October 14, 2016 1:30pm – 7:30pm. Packet pick up will also be available race day at the Large Pavilion at Fowler Park starting at 7:00am. Registration is now open.

Gold Rush Days in downtown Dahlonega gives you the opportunity to pan for gold, taste food Southern food and hear music from bluegrass, country, gospel and contemporary musicians. The 62nd annual event will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 15 and 16 located at 13 S. Floating River Parade and Fireworks Show for City of Helen, GA Centennial

city of helen, ga fireworksCelebrate the City of Helen, GA’s 100th anniversary by watching the floating river parade this Saturday August 31, 2013.
Stay for festivities and a fireworks show at 9:00 pm. It is one of our favorite towns to visit.
The tasty food, drinks and festivities are fun for all ages! College football games will be shown at area restaurants as well.
Make it a day trip, go camping or stay for a weekend adventure. There are plenty of places to stay and lots of things to do in the area.

The City of Helen, GA is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary this year!  As part of the Centennial Celebration Events, an old fashioned “Floating River Parade” will take place at the Riverbend Motel and continue to the Festhalle.
