6:30 am – 10:30 am – Cumming Farmers Market at the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot on Castleberry Road in Cumming, GA. 9:00 am – 3:00 pm – 12th Annual Cruising in the Country Car and Truck Show hosted by Mayfield Baptist Church, in Gainesville, GA, Forsyth County. Come join us for a day filled with good fellowship, great food, and beautiful cars!  Oh, and did I mention, the homemade ice cream? Play at the Park Family Fun Festival to be Held October 1, 2016! Family-friendly event is at Fowler Park.

Forsyth County Parks & Recreation and the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce present the 14th annual Play at the Park Family Fun Festival Saturday, October 1 at Fowler Park. The event is free to attend and offers family-friendly activities and live entertainment.

“Year after year, Play at the Park is a wonderful event that brings families together for a day of fun,” said Director of Parks & Recreation Jim Pryor. “We are looking forward to another great turnout this year and will have plenty of exciting activities for everyone to enjoy.”

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be vendors, arts and crafts, a kids’ inflatable area, a food truck alley, petting zoo, animal adoptions and much more. From 4 to 9 p.m., there will be tethered hot air balloon rides, a food truck alley and live music.

This is the first year the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Forsyth County Parks & Recreation on this event.

“The Chamber is excited to get the local business community involved in this year’s Play at the Park Family Fun Festival,” said Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce Director of Tourism Anna Barlow. “We are thrilled to be a part of such a fun-filled, community-centered event.”

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation will host the thirteenth annual Play at the Park Family Fun Festival Sunday, September 20, from noon to 5 p.m. at Fowler Park.

The festival will feature a variety of family-friendly entertainment and activities including inflatables, a petting zoo, train rides, a magic show, puppet show, food vendors and more. Admission to the event is free.

A community expo will include booths by the Forsyth County Fire Department, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, 911 Center, the Forsyth County Public Library and others.

“We look forward to another great turnout for this year’s Play at the Park Family Fun Festival,” said Director of Parks and Recreation Jim Pryor. “The event is a wonderful opportunity to explore Fowler Park and spend a fun day outside with your family.”

Every Friday morning we will set out a collection of kid-friendly building blocks for an engaging and educational drop-in playtime. You bring your creativity, we’ll provide the rest! All ages are welcome to attend this family program. Registration is not required, drop-in anytime!

Community Wide Garage Sale! Windermere Community has 14 neighborhoods participating in this community-wide garage sale on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Many homes will be participating. We are located off Buford Rd. Hwy 20 (east of 400N). From 400 northbound, exit #14 ,take right, travel approx 2 miles (to Trammel Rd) or 4 miles (to Windermere Pkwy) and take right. Maps will be located at the Windermere Lodge Clubhouse at address above. Each participating neighborhood and home will have a yellow sign in front. Come rain or shine.

APPLE ORCHARDS / CORN MAZES / FARMS IN NORTH GEORGIA

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family Farm, Warbington Farms and Kinsey Family Farm are also a fun-filled place to visit – check their websites for opening dates.

Hillcrest Orchards also debuts their apple pickin’ jubilee on September 7, 2013 and it runs every weekend through October. This is the only time that you can pick your own apples at this orchard. Pick your fun at the annual “Apple Pickin’ Jubilee” where you can pick your own apples, milk a cow, watch live pig races, walk a nature trail, visit the petting farm ($3.00 per person), take a wagon ride through the orchard, visit the Moonshine Museum and watch live bands and cloggers on the Hillcrest Stage.

There will be lots of fun activities like inflatables, face painting, a petting zoo, community expo, shopping vendors, eats and treats and family entertainment.

Admission to the 11th annual Play at the Park Family Fun Festival is free!

Hillcrest Orchards – Apple Pickin’ Jubilee begins September 8! Hillcrest Orchards is open daily: 9:00am – 6:00pm (Sept. 8 – Oct.) Admission is $6.00 per person. APPLE ORCHARDS/CORN MAZES/FARM FUN

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family Farm and Kinsey Family Farm are also fun-filled places to visit.
