In addition, campers will gain a sense of place by exploring creeks, fields, and forests while becoming familiar with the plants and animals that live in our area of Georgia. How to Choose a Summer Camp from Primrose Christopher Robin

summer camp at primrose christopher robinPrimrose Schools® Balances Fun with Learning through its Summer Camp Program

Extending Imagination into the Summer

Throughout the school year, the daily schedule for Primrose students puts a focus on learning literacy, math and critical thinking skills. They participate in activities specifically designed to teach them how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, use their imaginations, and express themselves creatively. Most importantly, the schedule is grounded in an emphasis on character development and on helping students learn to regulate their thinking, emotions, and behavior. The instruction, attention and support children receive from their teachers prepares them for success in the school years ahead.

Participating in this kind of balanced program doesn’t have to stop at the end of the school year! This summer, Primrose Christopher Robin will offer summer camp sessions that will enable children to have fun, explore interesting topics AND learn. At Primrose, learning doesn’t take a vacation during the summer. Having fun and learning can go hand in hand. In fact, when we make sure children have opportunities to play with ideas and exercise their imaginations, we’re encouraging them to become lifelong learners. With creative themes and stimulating activities, Camp Primrose is the perfect summer program.

Summer camp programs that include educational components are becoming increasingly popular as an option for parents looking for summer childcare. By visiting summer camp programs in the local community and talking with the staff, families can match their summer goals with the best summer camp experience for their child.

Here are a few tips about how to choose the best summer camp program for your child:

Include your child in the decision. You probably already know most of activities your children enjoy, but ask them what they would add as you make a list together. Then you can begin looking for a program that offers themes that focus on these interests. If you know your child is interested in learning something new, look for a program that provides opportunities to explore these topics in a fun and interactive way.

Choose a well-rounded or balanced program. As summer camps grow increasingly popular, there are more and more options to choose from. Choosing a program offered by an accredited educational organization will ensure that your child will be learning and having fun at the same time.

Visit the location. Summer programs distribute a great deal of written information and brochures, but you will always get a better idea and feel for the program by visiting the location and talking with the staff. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Ask other parents and children. Find out where parents in your community have sent their children for summer camp in the past and what their children thought of the experience. Word of mouth is a proven decision-making factor in choosing the best option for your family.

Primrose School of Christopher RobinPrimrose Christopher Robin is an accredited private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. The Leader in Educational Child Care®, we partner with parents to help children build the right foundation for future learning and life. Our goal is to help children have fun while building Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts®.

The Cumming Recreation and Parks Department will be changing over to a new Registration Software Platform for Summer, 2013 Registration. The new registration system will provide more flexibility for our customers, including Online Registration and Credit Card Payment for activities. However, it is not possible for the new system to share the database of the registration program we have been using. So, beginning with Summer Registration, the Cumming Recreation Department will need new information for ALL CUSTOMERS, including customers who have previously been enrolled in programs.

Beginning Monday, April 22, 2013, the Online Registration Site will be available for customers to create their new account via the internet. This will allow customers to create an account before registration for the Summer Programs begins on Monday, April 29, and will allow them to avoid waiting for the data input process to be performed at that time. The URL for the Online Registration Site is https://activenet019.active.com/cummingrecreation/servlet/registrationmain.sdi?online_site_id=2.

You also may go to www.crpdonline.org and click on the Register Online button to be taken directly to the Online Site. Please bookmark this page for future reference. Once there, simply click on Create Account and follow the instructions. An activation link will be sent to your e-mail and MUST BE CONFIRMED to finalize the creation of your account.

Registration for Summer Programs will begin Monday, April 29, at 8:30 am. At that time, customers may begin registering for programs both on-line and via walk-in registration at the Cumming Recreation Department’s Main Office at 410 Pilgrim Mill Road, Cumming, GA 30040. If you plan on utilizing walk-in registration and have not already created an account on-line, please take time to completely fill out a registration form (even if you have been a customer in the past). This will expedite the data input process.
