There will be a huge variety of quality handmade gifts for you to purchase.  Join us in the Family Life Center for the 2017 Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 11th from 8:30 am-1:30 pm. There will be quality hand-made gifts for sale. It’s a great place to get your Christmas shopping done. There will also be a Children’s Shop, Bake Sale, and Breakfast with Santa. 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Hoops for Horses at Save the Horses – Sophia wants to do something BIG for her 10th birthday to help make the world a better place. She decided to combine her love of horses, basketball and hoola-hoops to raise money for Save The Horses. This is an amazing organization that rescues abused, abandoned and neglected horses and other animals. Will you join on Sunday, November 12th for Sophia’s Hoops for Horses event? She has an afternoon of fun planned, including horseback riding, barn tours, a petting zoo, hoola-hoop dancing, a raffle and more! Tickets for activities and snacks will be sold at the event and will benefit Save The Horses. All activities will range from $1 – $5. 2015 Veterans’ Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 – Downtown Dawsonville, Presented by: Veterans Affairs of Dawson County.

Veterans Affairs of Dawson County will celebrate Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11 with lunch for Veterans at 1:00 p.m., Dawson County Middle School Cafeteria, Program at 2:00 in the school auditorium and parade through Downtown Dawsonville at 3:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to the program and parade. Community Wide Garage Sale! Windermere Community has 14 neighborhoods participating in this community-wide garage sale on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Many homes will be participating. We are located off Buford Rd. Hwy 20 (east of 400N). From 400 northbound, exit #14 ,take right, travel approx 2 miles (to Trammel Rd) or 4 miles (to Windermere Pkwy) and take right. Maps will be located at the Windermere Lodge Clubhouse at address above. Each participating neighborhood and home will have a yellow sign in front. Come rain or shine.

APPLE ORCHARDS / CORN MAZES / FARMS IN NORTH GEORGIA

It is the start of apple season and the orchards are opening!  Here is a directory of apple orchards and festivals in North Georgia. There are also corn mazes opening from Buford to Uncle Shuck’s to the North Georgia corn maze! Cagle’s Family Farm, Warbington Farms and Kinsey Family Farm are also a fun-filled place to visit – check their websites for opening dates.

Hillcrest Orchards also debuts their apple pickin’ jubilee on September 7, 2013 and it runs every weekend through October. This is the only time that you can pick your own apples at this orchard. Pick your fun at the annual “Apple Pickin’ Jubilee” where you can pick your own apples, milk a cow, watch live pig races, walk a nature trail, visit the petting farm ($3.00 per person), take a wagon ride through the orchard, visit the Moonshine Museum and watch live bands and cloggers on the Hillcrest Stage.

Hillcrest Orchards is open daily: 9:00am – 6:00pm (Sept. – Oct.) 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Nov.) Admission is $7.00 per person. Click here for directions and more information. Cagle’s Family Farm in Canton, GA opens Labor Day weekend! Fall fun at the farm starts this weekend. Enjoy their 13th annual corn maze and lots of kid friendly activities. There is also a haunted barn opening Oct. 4 – Nov. 2 for older folks. Open weekends from August 30 through November 17th. Hours are as follows:
