  Bring your sweet kiddos in for a family friendly mini workshop! Free, One ornament per person, 4+ years old (or so…) Located at 410 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 230, Cumming, GA 30041.

10:00 am – 1:00 pm – German Christmas Market at South Forsyth High School. Free! Arts & crafts, decorations, face painting, games, music, food. Please bring gently used clothing for their coat drive.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth story time. Join us in welcoming Santa Claus himself back by popular demand to read this sure to be future classic story by pop singer Kelly Clarkson. It’s Christmas Eve and River Rose wants to stay up all night to hand-deliver a note to Santa, but she and her dog fall asleep only to find they’ve been swept off on another magical adventure. Activities to follow.

 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Pictures with Santa at The Gibson Co. 3960 Browns Bridge Rd, Cumming, Georgia 30041. For two Saturdays in December, Santa Randy will be joining us at the shop for free Pictures! Bring your own camera (or photographer) and enjoy this gift as a “Thank You” for your patronage and friendship this year.

3:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Grinch Candy Cane Hunt at Warbington Farms Help! The Grinch has discovered that Santa’s elves have hidden candy canes at one of their favorite places….Warbington Farms. He’s planning on finding them and turning them green! Please help us find them all before it’s too late!

The event is 3:00-7:00 but Santa Pop will be at farm from 4-7 and Candy Cane Hunts will be at 4:15 and 5:15. *We suggest arriving at farm at least ten minutes before each hunt to allow time to park, pay, and get to hunt.

Admission is $7 per person (under three free) and includes:
*Pictures with SANTA (bring or own camera or purchase professional pictures from Teena Coogle Photography). There will be a photo area complete with Santa and his sleigh! Santa Pop will be at farm from 4-7pm. Must be in line by 6:30 to have picture taken with Santa.

Sunday, December 17

2:30 pm – The Cumming Library – Hampstead Stage presents A Christmas Carol – Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is a timeless story with a universal message about the true spirit of the holiday season and the importance of friends and family. HSC’s adaptation follows the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and his clerk, Bob Cratchit, during a particularly difficult Christmas time. Through visits from three spirits, Scrooge learns the true meaning of helping his fellow man, and that there is no time like the present to become a better person. No registration required. Please arrive early to obtain a ticket.​ Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Nov. 17, 2017 – Jan. 3, 2018: Magical Nights of Lights 25th Anniversary at Lanier Islands – Drive through larger-than-life holiday light displays at Lanier Islands while you hear songs of the season on your radio or smartphone. Enhance the experience with the companion app, and stop at the Holiday Village to visit Santa, shop for gifts, and ride carnival rides. Admission to the 25th Anniversary of Magical Nights of Lights and Holiday Village is just $45/vehicle* when purchased at the gate and $35/vehicle* when purchased in advance online. Magical Nights of Lights and Holiday Village operates from 5pm – 10pm nightly from November 17 – January 3.

The Ice Rink @ North Georgia is a seasonal outdoor ice rink at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall in Dawsonville, GA open from Nov 17 – Jan 5.

Christmas in Castille – Opens November 30! The light show runs Thursday – Saturdays from 6-9pm until December 23rd. Turn your radio dial to 89.9 and enjoy the Christmas lights on this magical street. 4220 Tivoli Way, Alpharetta, GA. The light show is free and they are taking donations for a local charity through the West Forsyth DECA Club.

Santa at Rucker PetSanta will be flying by and stopping in at Rucker Pet locations over 3 weekends:

Also at BTF, we have hayrides, available on the weekends, hot apple cider, petting zoo, kids play zone, fresh made jams and jellies, Santa Claus (see website for certain dates), bon-fire, and many other fun activities.

Kinsey Family Farm – Our Christmas festivities, including wagon rides, hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting, Christmas tree picking and general merriment, have begun! If you would like some quality time with your family please feel free to come out and join us! The 2017 Christmas season will be in operation from Saturday, November 18th until December 20th. Due to our desire to celebrate the holidays with our own families we will not be open on Thanksgiving day or Christmas Eve.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble at The Collection Forsyth – How the Grinch Stole Christmas Story time – This classic, heartwarming story about the effects of the Christmas spirit will grow even the coldest and smallest of hearts three sizes. Activities to follow.

11:00 am – 1:00 pm – See Santa at Bottoms Tree Farm while you shop for a Christmas tree, take a hayride and roast marshmallows at this 50-acre farm.

iRun BYOT – Forsyth County Schools and the Forsyth BYOT Benefit are partnering to hold the second annual iRun, a 5K race and Fun Run.  The run will take place on October 7 at Shiloh Point Elementary with the 5K starting at 8:00 am and the Fun Run at 9:00 am.  The funds raised from this event will help to provide home internet access and computing devices for students throughout our district.  There is a competition among schools to see which has the most participation.  Register or donate to help our school win!

Lily’s Run & Fall Festival – Lily’s Run 2017 will be held Sunday, October 8th from 12pm – 4pm in Vickery Village.  This year’s event will be granting wishes for two very special children! We hope you will join us for a fun family event including bounce houses, cornhole tournament, cupcake decorating station, youth sports activities, shopping from vendors, arts & crafts, face paint, and more!!

Cumming Country Fair & Festival at The Cumming Fairgrounds from October 5 – October 15, 2017!

Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze sponsored by the Georgia Foresty Association. This years’ design features some of Georgia’s happy wildlife neslted into their forest home! Uncle Shuck’s Maze is a 12 acre field of corn that has approximately 4 miles of trails, twisting and turning, and sometimes, coming to a deadend! Opening weekend is Sept. 9-10, 2017, come and kick off this year’s fall season. The corn maze and fall fun will be OPEN:

October 21 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Forsyth County Trunk or Treat Safety Event at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Bring the whole family and have fun while learning how to stay safe this Halloween during the seventh annual Trunk or Treat Safety Event. The family-friendly event will be held at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is one family-sized bag of candy per family. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to Trunk or Treat, which will feature a variety of fun activities and games. There will also be information on costume safety, pedestrian safety, stranger danger, stop-drop-roll demonstrations and more.

October 28 from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm – Halloween Trick or Treat & Monster Mash Dance Off at The Collection Forsyth. Join the Monster Mash Dance-off, hang out at the Creation Station for fall crafting, costume parade, games, pizza from Mellow Mushroom, and Treats from our wonderful restaurants and retailers.

October 28 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Fall festival at First Baptist Cumming. 1597 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA. Inflatables, cake walk, petting zoo, hay rides, giveaways, food, trunk or treat and more!

October 28 – 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Halloween Egg Haunt at Warbington Farms. Join “Count Cottontail” and the rest of the farm for a “Halloween Egg HAUNT” on Saturday, October 28, at Warbington Farms. The event is FREE WITH Fun Park admission ($12 per person)

There will be four egg haunts:

Dress up in your cutest or scariest costume and win a prize! We will have a costume contest for under three and over three at EACH Egg Haunt. Winners will win Fun Park tickets, CASH, and other prizes. The contest will take place 10 minutes before each Egg Haunt starts. Please be at pavilion gate 10 minutes before the Haunt if you want to participate in the contest. Admission ($12 per person) includes the Egg Haunt, CORN MAZE, hayride, petting zoo, corn crib, slides, swings, playground and MORE! The farm will be open 10am-10pm. October 28 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Forsyth County Parks & Recreation is hosting their inaugural Family Fun Fest and Haunted Trail on Saturday, October 28 at the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center. The free event will feature family crafts, games and nature-themed activities. Also included in the festivities will be a Halloween costume contest for all ages and a haunted trail for ages eight and up. The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., with the costume contest at 6:30 p.m. and the haunted trail beginning at 7 p.m. The Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center is located at 4075 Spot Road.

October 29 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Trunk or Treat at Midway United Methodist Church. Trick-or-treaters make the rounds in a parking lot full of cars with decorated trunks giving candy and other treats. Come earlier in the afternoon and visit our pumpkin patch at our historic chapel, where you can play games, listen to a professional storyteller share fall and kid-friendly Halloween tales, find a tasty treat at the bake sale, take your fall pics in a beautifully decorated spot, and buy pumpkins to take home for carving. October 29 from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm. Trunk or Treat at Christ Community Church – Fall is here and we are so excited for Fall Festival. Join us for a “SUPER” themed Trunk or Treat, Chili cook-off, inflatables for kids, and a Box-MAZE. Come out Sunday, October 29th from 4:00-6:30pm. Don’t forget to invite your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers. This will be a great time for the whole family!

October 29 from 6:00 pm – Fall Family Festival and Trunk or Treat at Concord Baptist Church. Come Join the FUN!! Concord Baptist Fall Festival!! There will be Truck-Or-Treating, Games, Cake Walk, PopCorn, Snow Cones, Moon Walk, Big Slide, Obstacle Course, Candy, Candy and More Candy. Oh, did I mention hot dogs, chip and drinks? October 29 from 5:00 – 7:30 pm – Trunk or Treat at Vickery Village. ReThink Group will host their annual Trunk or Treat event for children in our community. Kids in costume and their parents are invited to join us starting at 5 pm on October 30th for Trunk or Treating at Vickery Village and other Halloween festivities.

October 31 from – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – New Hope United Methodist Church is hosting their annual Trunk n’ Treat on Tuesday, October 31st, from 6-8pm.  Admission is free & all are welcome to attend! The first 100 trunk n’ treaters will receive a free Kona Ice & trick or treat bag! There will be games, a bounce house, food, & baked goods- all free! LIBRARY EVENTS

The Cumming, Hampton Park, and Post Road branches will host Trick-or-Treat Storytime events October 26 through 31 featuring family-friendly Halloween stories, music, and activities. Children are invited to dress up and participate in a costume parade around the library as they trick-or-treat with library staff. Visit the library’s online event calendar for a listing of Trick-or-Treat Storytime programs.

After Halloween, come celebrate Latin American culture and El Día de los Muertos, or The Day of the Dead, with storyteller Barry Stewart Mann at the Cumming Library on Thursday, November 2 at 6:30 p.m. This special One World Forsyth program will be hosted during the library’s regularly scheduled Twilight Tales storytime and is sponsored by FCPL Friends & Advocates, an independent non-profit organization that raises funds for library programs and materials through sales at the Friends Bookstores. Barry Stewart Mann’s captivating program includes a selection of stories and poetry from Mexico and across Latin America told in both English and Spanish.

HALLOWEEN EVENTS NEAR FORSYTH COUNTY

Trunk or Treat Dawsonville October 31 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Rock Creek Park, Dawsonville, GA – Come out to Rock Creek on Halloween 4:00-7:00PM to trunk-or-treat with your family! The purpose of this event is to provide the children in the community with a safe place to trick-or-treat. Rock Creek is a well-lit area that provides plenty of parking, restrooms, and easy access! We will designate a specific area in the park for the trunk-or-treat and have it sectioned off so that vehicle traffic will not be permitted, providing a traffic-free area for the children. Admission is free and so are most of the activities; concessions/dinner will be available for purchase. CANDY, treats/toys, promotional items/freebies, carnival games, bounce house, hay rides, face painting, MORE CANDY! Sorry, no pets (service animals only, please).

Trick or Treat Dahlonega – Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on October 31st, 2017 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours. The event will take place on October 31st from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! For safety reasons, the roads will be closed and re-routed during the event.
