Veterans Eat Free at Local Restaurants!

Applebee’s – Free meal on Sunday, November 11, 2012. You’ll be able to choose a meal from a limited Veteran’s Day menu that includes steak, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, salad, pasta, chicken, and shrimp. You can see the complete menu by using the link above. This deal is dine-in only and beverages and gratuity are not included. You’ll need to bring in one proof of military service or ID.

Visit Chili’s on Sunday, November 11, 2012, to get your Veterans Day free meal if you are a veteran or on active military duty. Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of 7 meals. This offer is available from 11am – 5pm on November 11, 2012 at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included. Bring military ID and call to make sure the location is participating.

four40 Kitchen + Bar – Free meal on Monday, November 12. In honor of Veteran’s Day, four40 kitchen + bar would like to thank our Veterans and Active Duty Military with a complimentary entree to all those with a valid military ID.

Golden Corral is offering a free meal on Monday, November 12 from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Little Caesars® Pizza – Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Little Caesars is honoring the men and women of the United States armed forces this Veterans Day by providing veterans and active military members with a free Crazy Bread® with proof of military status or proof of service at participating stores nationwide. Call ahead to verify participation.

Red Robin on Monday, November 12 to get a free Red’s Tavern Double burger and Bottomless Steak Fries. Bring your military ID to take advantage of this Veterans Day freebie.

Outback Steakhouse is offering a free bloomin onion and beverage on November 11 and 12, 2012.
Subway is offering a free six-inch sub on Sunday, November 11 (call your local franchise ahead of time to see if they are participating). Many Subway restaurants are offering FREE 6″ subs to military veterans on Veterans Day 2012. Enjoy a free Subway sub or flatbread of your choice for lunch or dinner. Subway restaurants are franchises, so not all locations are participating. Please call ahead to confirm before heading over to Subway on November 11.

Dollar General is offering a 10% discount on November 11, 2012.

National Parks Free Veterans Day Admission

Everybody gets free entrance to our National Parks Veterans Day weekend. Dates this year include November 10 – 12, 2012.

Local Veterans Day Events & Celebrations

The Veterans Day and Marine Corps birthday celebration will begin at 7:30 tonight (November 8, 2012) in the football stadium at North Forsyth High School, 3635 Coal Mountain Road. It is free and open to the public.

VFW Post 9143 will sponsor an all you can eat breakfast of Pancakes and Eggs, with a side of your choice of either Bacon or Sausage for a $ 5.00 Donation on November 9, 2012 starting at 8 AM through 10 AM. Bring your family to help us celebrate this special day for our veterans.

Veterans Day Celebration and Festival on Veterans Day 10AM – 4PM at Lake Lanier Islands. This event will honor veterans and help raise money for Warrior2Citizen’s pilot program designed to help veterans and their families transition “from the war front to the home front.” The event includes a worship service, a job fair, live music, family activities, food, and a patriotic ceremony. The event is free to sponsored veterans, their spouses and children. YOU can attend and/or sponsor a veteran to attend.ALL attendees must register – go to for details.
